Current line Seattle -3 @ -120 over/under 45
Tough opening game because of the unknown of the health of our pass rush. Clemons, Avril, Bennett and Irvin out for 4 games. How ready will Zach Miller be on the Offense?
What concerns me the most is D Bevell. He's going to come out and play conservative football and try to establish the line of scrimmage. Thus, the 1st half is some awfully low scoring game and then we're in a dog fight in the 2nd half.
We know our divison has nice front 7's, but the Panthers front 7 is no joke and has the upside to be more than outstanding. We all know you build a defense with toughness up the gut and speed on the edges. Carolina has now built their front 7 to those parameters.
Up the gut, you now have Star L, Edwards/Short at 3 and 1 tech with CJohnson & GHardy manning the wings with 10+ sacks. That's a nice front 4 with balance. Now you add Kuechly, DROY, up the gut as the Mike. Kuech has serious instincts. Beason and Davis as the OLB's. Beason's back from an injury. The front 7 will help an avg secondary.
Carolina's O is below avg and we should shut it down. Surprisingly, KJ hasn't looked so great covering TE's and GOlsen is the only guy that may do a bit of damage. He's decent.
I love the under 45 in this game because of the matchups, Bevell being Bevell early on and it being a road game with pass rush health concerns. I think the Hawks pull this game out but it's not some like it will be in week 2 at home vs 9ers.
It will be time to play around with the VCash and see which direction it heads.
