BB pct...15.6..pct high on that list..
They did not take him to the playoffsAnother realistic try thinking like a Mariners GM:
C - Raleigh
1B - France
2B - Drury or Trade
3B - Suarez
SS - Crawford
LF - Nimmo
CF - JRod
RF - Conforto
DH - Haniger
Bench - Moore, Haggerty, Toro, Murphy
SP's: Castillo, Gilbert, Kirby, Ray, A Rookie from AA
Taylor Rogers and mostly the same as this year.
I see Marco, Flexen, Trammell, Torrens, and Maybe Kelenic traded for a 2B, RP, and prospects.
Winker? Will he play again with his back/neck? Even if healthy will he be a Mariner?
I don’t think there would’ve been anyone besides a PTBL. From all “experts” Seattle overpaid for Castillo and SD didn’t give up anything significant for him. He has to overpay for a free agent, so it wouldn’t make sense why not to trade for a dude first. Outside of Kendrys Morales, essentially every player who has been in Seattle has fallen in love with the Seattle.Actually the opposite IMO. He wanted him, but didn't want to give up assets and have him walk which I agree with. But now all it costs is money so not sure why he would not want him now. I could care less if we get him, but because Dipoto had interest earlier it leads me to believe he will target him again.
I don’t mind at all if Hancock is trade bait but I can’t see anyone who Seattle who get at the moment who he would be the main piece. I haven’t looked very hard at who could be available but A. Jerry doesn’t like one year guys B. It seems at moment most dudes who will be on the market seem to be pitchers which is a lateral move. They don’t need pitching, they need position players. We literally just were shown we can have 5 Kirby’s but you need an offense.I see Hancock as trade bait to get a position player we can't get in free agency. I am fine if he stays. Never have enough young arms. Taylor Dollard is the other one I am guessing. They also have a Bryce Miller so I like the depth and I hope they keep it, but inability to sign guys may cause them to deal some. I think Brash pushes his way back into starting as well.
Rotating a DH is fine, which is why I like putting France there because he can play 1B and 3B. I do not like the option of leaving it open because they need to leave it open for dudes who can’t play in the field without getting injured like Lewis or if they resign Haniger. As well as I am sick of playing infielders like Haggerty and Dylan Moore in the OF. Haggerty should be the 2B not a COF.The money is there for everyone. The choice to spend it is always the question.
Agreed and still not a Correa fan though he is a big upgrade.
They will keep JRod happy and play him where he wants to play is my thought. Two outfielders are needed and we don't have another starter in the organization.
I like a rotating DH unless there is just a stud DH like Nelson Cruz of a few years back. We have too many positionless players who need to rotate at DH.
It should be fun and interesting offseason.
