Seattle making 11th-hour push to trade for Vikings Pro-Bowl DE Jared Allen, per multiple sources. Vikings also talking to second team.

I was just thinking we could use him. We are really missing Aldon.

Just saw that. Unreal. Schneider and Co. are going all in, it seems. The bigger question lies in whether Russ can survive until the O-line gets healthy, but the potential add of Allen to their D-line rotation is a frightening thought.

Baalke, please do NOT hedge your bets on MM and Crabs being an instant salve. Don't sit on your hands again with our obvious current and future WR corps issues. Even if we don't win the whole thing this year, it might be easier to swallow knowing the FO exhausted every effort to address our most glaring weakness heading into the playoff tourney.

And @mortreport says the Vikings are asking a second-round pick for Jared Allen but would consider a conditional third-round pick.
How can Seattle afford him?

He's a 4-3 guy, and thinks highly of SEA, DEN, and DAL. SF is a 3-4 team but play enough hybrid to make that intriguing, too

Id much rather have Gordon

Seattle could pony up their '14 2nd-rounder and re-do Allen's deal (he's due ~$7.5MM for the balance of this year). Seattle's current cap space is ~$2.6MM.

If the Vikings GM lets him go to Seattle for only a second, thats a steal and would be a dumb trade on Vikings part.

Offer a second now Niners get the beast. As for Gordon who helps more someone who will put qbs in the turf or a temporary fix that will be riding pine on e we get Crabs and Manningham back? I like Gordon but better coming in the draft and we will have crabs, ham, Boldin and Vd.

They are done this year and he's scheduled for free agency. Second may be a steal.

Its a low second and you might be able to pull multiple picks from another team by using Seahawks as leverage.

On reports of Seahawks pursuing Jared Allen: Anything is possible. But SEA source say interest is vastly overblown (& have just $2M in space

Indeed, though you figure MIN might be able to finagle another mid/late-rounder should his new team extend Allen. Even still, the value a reinvigorated elite pass-rusher brings can't be understated. My question is: how healthy is he?

NFL source: 49ers have "no interest" in a Jared Allen trade.
