Nothing that's going to help us this year if he sits out.

I'm more curious to know if there are any provisions in the contract that allow for the Cowboys to void the deal. It wouldn't seem wise to depend on Sean Lee to be the starting Middle Linebacker going forward. It was premature giving him 7 years in the first place.

This is just so frustrating. I agree about Vilma. They wont do that though.

I say Marinelli gives Urlacher a call. Us fans get fired up and he comes in and decides he doesnt have it anymore and re retires.

My body has no idea how to handle this kind of Cowboys disappointment in May.

Did anyone else notice on the play where Lee got hurt, it was on a screen pass? All the speculations about what adding that Martin kid could do for the offense. Running game and dump-offs/screens should keep Romo a bit fresher longer and keep us in the game. With Lee possibly down, we will need that line to control the game. Fingers crossed that this is the first (or second) sign. Now if Martin can just focus on dishing out some pain to the other team......

What type of injury provisions are in Sean Lee's contract? I thought I remembered hearing there were some sort of stipulations in the contract in the event of major injury.

2015 Bonus: $1.5M (with 80% of games played 2013-14)
2016-19 Bonus: $7.5M with 80% games played in previous years
2014 restructure: $4.75 million

Steroids will do that. Dude is made of glass.

I dont think its fair to say that. He has had several knee injuries and I read once that a big part of knee issues is the imbalance of opposing muscles. For example NFL players spend a ton of time squatting and jerking (building quads) while not building the hamstrings. THis imbalance leads to knee issues. Im not saying its that. I just think some dudes are just unlucky. But to go right to steroids isn't fair.

Hypothetically, yes, steroids dont help the strength of your ligaments and the muscles over power the attachment (ligaments).

So assuming he is done for the year, no 1.5M bonus in 2014. Now, does not playing all of 2014 effect future bonuses (2016 and beyond)? Is it a collective 80% over the term or does the chance for 80% start anew each coming year?

Assume the reports are correct at what point do you cut Lee. Part of it is bad luck but He's injury prone. At this point you can't keep a guy who can't stay healthy regardless of his talent level.

It may depend on Romos back, if Romo goes down I think we need to draft Mariotta. Randy Gregory looks like Ware.

I think if the Cowboys finish 6-10 or worse you have to draft a qb.....regardless of Romo's health/salary cap situation. If you have a shot at Mariotta , Hundley, the kid from Baylor or Even Crab Legs Winston you have to draft one of those guys. Even if you choose to sit them for a year.

Even though he was being helped off the field by 2 guys, he was actually walking off the field.
That may mean nothing but it's common to see a guy never let his leg touch the ground when coming off the field after blowing his ACL

Didn't RG3 walk of the field on his own with his ACL injury. I know initially he was hoping and at somepoint didn't he walk and actually play in the following game. Which was a playoff game against Seattle.

Yes that is common, but yet there are times like when Tom Brady tore his knee a few years back and he walked over to the stairs and down them with little help.
