Kind of bitter sweet, isn't it? I'm happy for the things Wash did while manager, even though he drove me nuts along the way. I'm also happy that we'll be turning the page. I'm already looking forward to next year with a new manager and our injured players mixing in with some new guys.

The question I have is one that was finally asked during the news conference and that is would RW have resigned if we were headed to a 90-100 win season. (Put this out on the Wash Resign post as well.)

As much as I have wanted Wash to be replaced for several years now I have never wanted it to happen this way. I wish the best for Wash in this circumstance. He has always seemed like a very likeable gentleman.

I always thought when Wash was replaced that I would be happy because it meant that we were getting a better manager and that it would have meant that JD finally realized how poor of a manager Wash is. At this point I still don't feel any better about JD and his choice of manager. JD has no chance of redeeming himself by letting Wash go now. I just hope that the new hire makes me feel better about the organization when it happens.

I am pulling for Steve Buechele, but I realize that there are many potential candidates to choose from.

I guess all of those Wash apologists who always defended Wash by asking who would we have replace him are going to find out the answer to that question. Not that they ever really cared about that answer though. That was just a way of defending an opinion that really couldn't be defended.

Turning the page for Wash may be a good thing. We have no idea what his health status is but one can only imagine the pressure the man has been under. Any way hope it works out for him as well as the organization.

Right, I have nothing against RW as a person. I hope too whatever the issue is that it is one that can be resolved.

I'm glad, for what I've been hearing, it's not drug related, but still could be physical. Have no idea as to who to look for but it's a chance to reinvent ourselves.

(1) So what way was the "preferable" way? You didn't want him to resign, you wanted him fired and burned-at-the-stake or what? Or to somehow win a WS and then ride off into the sunset?

(2) So now we're fucked b/c JD is no better than he ever was? I don't know what this means actually.

Guy's there's a lot to be found out here - both on Ron's leaving and who replaces him long term.

I do view this is a terrific opportunity for the club to move forward and wonder if Ron didn't "fall-on-his-sword" for the organization. All this "personal problem stuff" is cover.

For me, honestly, I'd much prefer this scenario than a personal drug problem or have a child with a disease, etc.

nothing we do right now is going to reinvent us. when the season ends and FA opens then we start the process. hopefully JD gets his head out of his ass this off-season and makes the right moves especially in the SP area

Of course, I was referring to the future. Not sure that needed to be explained.

(1) What is your problem man? My preference was that Wash didn't have anything personal going on. Who would want that? The burned at the stake comment was foolish. I never intimated that at all. I would have like JD to have realized that Wash was a poor manager and fire him. Ideally that would have happened before Wash was able to manage in the WS.

(2) It is not hard to know what I mean at all. We still have a GM who thinks Wash is a great manager. That is not very comforting.

I am just guessing here but I think Saddles is just saying he would not want it to be for something that could be a serious personal issue.

I'd check in at 6:30 on channel 21 for all the pre-game on it. Don't expect to hear anything new, tho. Just reaction.

Unless Wash comes out and says anything we might never know. The FO isn't going to tell us what the issue is so we just have to wait for Wash to come forward at some point.
