I can't imagine it means much with regards to Williams.

I think he would be more likely to challenge Blackmon or Simon or one of the depth CBs.

Saw a stat where he lined up at RCB, LCB and the slot almost evenly. I love thatt. Most likely a guy to challenge for that fourth CB spot and provide insurance for Lane.

Seahawks trade undisclosed 2016 draft pick to Detroit for CB Mohammed Seisay | The Seattle Times

Makes me wonder if they are not happy with the new CB we signed from phly this offseason. And hopefully its only a 6th or 7th. Anyone who has more info on Seisay would you please share. The article above has a clip from his 40 time from his proday

this move was because they were tired of some of their young safeties lining-up at CB because of injuries and the lack of depth. Also it was a 6th rounder.

yeah this is all about depth I cant imagine them having concerns with cary williams after a week of training camp we do have plenty of injuries at CB and lane wont be back for awhile from what i understand so i can see why they would acquire another corner

Pretty much what I think too...

I have 0 faith in Simon staying healthy or not getting beat like a drum in coverage.

At 6'2", Seisay has the length and frame PC likes for his corners, and he's got plenty of experience all over the field.

I consider this more of an indictment on Simon than Williams. I think Williams is going to be a stud in this defense.

I don't think this is an indictment of anyone. I think this is "Jeremy Lane is questionable for the season" move.

Hope your right about Williams, I'm hopeful, but not sure. One thing I'm sure of is Seisay is here to compete against the players the Seahawks have for depth.

Not a fan of Carry Williams cause of his attitude and pathetic play with the Eagles. I hope he gets his shit together and plays like the way he did in Carolina. I want him to have a sense of urgency with this trade, which I do like.

Maybe. But with his size he projects more of an outside guy.

That really isn't how the Hawks operate. They are always looking for players that fit the system.

We had the same thing last year with Burnley.

Secondary play is so much about coaching and being put in the right position. I don't think it's a coincidence that he was good in Baltimore, then sucky in Philly. And judging by the Hawks contract for him, I'd say they feel the same.

Burley was/is a slot corner brought in for depth to replace Thurmond and back up Lane. Slot really is a very different position, with different required skillsets. Versatility is great and they're always looking for it, but in reality not many guys can play inside and outside.

He got a bad rep in Philly by his choosing. When he chose to redecorate his house over OTA's and had an attitude about it and the fact he was always out of position and couldn't tackle a sloth gives me nightmares. Yes the Eagles secondary wasn't very good, but his talent should have been able to help out some and it didn't. I forget, what was the contract that the Hawks gave him?

Truth be told we have no idea what this guy can do. But if there is one area of the field in which I emphatically trust Coach Carroll, it is the secondary. Especial with Kris Richard as our new DC.
