More than one team in Texas...and there may be more money elsewhere.
which was why I said..."I'd expect Earl to work his way to Texas a year from now"

if the money is somewhat in the ballpark....Earl wants to come home.
we'll see

Being a Niner fan, I HATE the seahawks, so I'm not seeing through the eyes of a fan.

Imo, Thomas spent 3 or 4 years as the unquestionably best safety in the NFL. 8 years in the NFL. 6 PBs, 5 times either 1st or 2nd team All Pro. He is still amazing. He's still a top 3 safety in the NFL by any rational analysis, and a good argument can be made that he's still the best. From his play in 2017, he'll remain a top 3 safety for another 2-3 years imo.

No. And they sure as hell won't next year when both Zack Martin and D.Lawrence will need gigantic contracts.
I don't disagree that he definitely was the best in the game at one time. However, the injuries have gotten the best of him IMO. He's still a really, really good safety, but I wouldn't put him in the top 3. If I had my choice, he'd be top 10, but the injury concerns keep him out of the top 5.

I thought they were gonna be strapped here with the OL becoming more and more expensive.

If I'm Jerry I make an offer of a 2nd, 4th and Scandrick, then say only call if you agree to that offer and hang up.

I honestly think Seattle would take a 3rd and 5th and think you're way overvalued.

Earl Thomas has 1 year left on his contract, is approaching 30, and has been banged up the last few years including some pretty big injuries. He'll also command $8-12M+ plus going forward if he plays well for Dallas in the FA market.

I would love Seattle to get a 2nd (or even 1st) and player to boot (along with a 4th) but I don't see that happening in today's NFL. Regardless, if you were the GM I'd hit the accept button SUPER quick on that and send a $5,000 escort your way.

All the better. I just know the report is they want a 1st, and that would piss me off.
We all know that Dallas 2nd round pick is given to Jerry for his SPLASH pick. Scandrick wants out and will probably be cut anyway, so the way I see it is in the trade I proposed Dallas is only losing out on a 4th.

And you see it through the eyes of the superfan. What you don't do is watch the other guys I mentioned or any other safeties for that matter. Saying what you're saying just shows off your bias. You watching him every week doesn't mean he's the best, you're not a voice of authority on the topic. You're just a fan.

Your voice isn't the authority either bro... that goes both way's ....

Yah those 'reports' are fairly stupid though. Everyone wants a first. If Seattle could trade fatass Lacy for a 1st last year they would.

sure they will....Earl knows the Seattle ride is over and he'd love to get back to the great state of Texas

I have no doubt Earl wasn't to be in Texas, but it's gonna come down to the teams working out an agreement, if it happens...

I think if the Seahawks asked for a first for Lacy, Goodell would have to suspend the whole FO for conduct that would embarrass the league.

Eh you still got the Browns in this league. Anything is possible.

I'm at least unbiased. You're not using any level of metrics, you're just saying "I've watched him play". Stats don't back you up.

Cowboys will never give up a 1st for him. (Nor should they) Also I dont see him giving a hometown discount which means the cowboys cant afford him right now anyways.

If they do this.....Seattle misses out on the playoffs next season.

The Rams got better, the 49ers got better, and the Cards got better.

The Seahawks conducted a fire-sale.

Seattle probably misses out on the playoffs anyway.

I agree they needed to shed some players, but because they've been spending all their draft picks like it's a Madden video game, they have zero ammunition to re-stock players.
