Just gotta wonder, if they knew waiving Schaefer would end up being a possibility, and they knew he would retire rather than report to Manitoba (as is being reported by CKNW), and in his doing so, they would lose roster depth...

i think that happened when Walter was fired and Av was allowed to hire his own coaching assistant (brown) Gillis is giving AV the chance to hang himself

this team has immense talent it can be a very very good team. but I dont think at all we are elite nor will be. I still think Gillis failed in the bottom 6 and unless he has a plan at the deadline this team wont win a cup. the attitude doesnt seem to be there. they dont have that chicago power from last year, that pittsburgh talent from the year before, that detroit glory from the year before that or even the Ducks tougness from the year before that.

what Im getting at is the Canucks have NO identity again. have they had one in the last 3 years? I cant see it. this is not because of the 4 game losing streak Ive felt this since game 1, I felt it while on that 6 game winning streak.
