Pressures is pretty much the definition of getting close.

And...what were the results of those pressures? A 1st down completion on 3rd & long? A TD throw perhaps? Or a QB run on 3rd & long resulting in a 1st down? Possibly a sack by another defender due to Smith's pressure? Who knows but one thing for sure, we need to add effective rushers to our defense.

And as I have said, we could have the fastest OLB on the planet out there and it wont matter if we dont actually have a solid line. Notice the defense shit the bed after Allen went on IR. Edge Rusher is the sexy pick, the guys we should be targeting are Payne and Vea. If both are gone, then sure take the edge rusher or ILB.

I agree and as you and I have discussed in another thread, I'm totally on board with the Vea pick or possibly Payne as an alternative. I just think we need more effectiveness opposite Kerrigan and hopefully a pick in this draft will provide some help. I'm with you though, defense, defense and more defense!
