He is going to be more successful in Pittsburgh than Denver
Without a doubt.

Pittsburgh isn’t going to sit a guy while still eligible to make the playoffs. They’re a high end franchise with a track record, not WalMart brand GreatValue/FadedGlory football.

I didn't see Wilson signing for peanuts either.

All I need now is a reason to dislike Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson and then I can join the AFCN hate guide thread.

He’s still going to earn what he signed for with Denver.

He loses nothing signing for peanuts.

This was a gift for Pittsburgh.

This is the Russ Pittsburgh is getting in a nutshell. I spent the last 2 years defending him as any fan would have their team but he’s bad. And Steelers fans can argue “at least he‘s not Pickett or Rudolph bad” but that doesn’t mean he’s good.

Denver would rather pay Russ $39 million to not play for them, that’s how bad he was.

It’s a low risk signing for Pittsburgh, doesn’t make it good.

I think this a good deal for both parties.

Or maybe Sean Payton doesn't know what the fuck he is doing and still living off that bountygate Super Bowl from 15 years ago. Great quarterbacks make coaches look smarter than they actually are.

Smart move. Guarantees them a 9-8 finish.
No, but it is a competitive division. There would be no surprise whoever wins the division, except if the best organization in the division won it. Pittsburgh will have the least expectations going into the next season in their division.

Sure, or Russ is washed and wore out his welcome in Seattle because his ego couldn’t accept it.

And let’s not pretend Russ was better before Payton got there, in fact Russ was much much worse. Payton actually got the most out of him you can at this point And it still was average at best.

He could have earned more in the broadcast booth and he wouldn't get hurt. Maybe after a year out people would be more sympathetic towards him and his market would be better. I guess I can't fault someone for doing what they love for free.
