Thanks for linking me to a Flyers website to make a point.

I made my with comments from national web site's. No bias here right?.

Look, The Flyers have the better team and will probably win game seven. I just gave my personal opinion.

How's the saying go? Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house. I just think it's funny that Buffalo was calling Philly whiners and criers, etc. and now they're crying about everything. I guess no one sees the irony.

Yet you don't find it ironic that the very same player that was complaining that the Sabres are getting away with murder, and saying that the refs are on the Sabres side, goes out there and lays a dirty hit on Connolly to take him out of the game?

IMO, I think some Flyers fans didn't like the fact that Ruff called some of their players whiners and are now looking for any chance they can get to return the favor.

Whatever helps people sleep better at night I guess?

Damn, I guess they don't teach irony in schools anymore.

I really don't follow the off ice BS, it's just that - BS.

Let's see who comes to play. I haven't seen all the games, but from what I've seen and read, one person has kept this series going to game 7 - Yes Ryan Miller. Maybe he's getting fed up with the play of his team and looking to stir them up.

Who cares what website it's from? They used his quotes. They didn't make up what he said.

I really don't see all of the bickering here. Most people agreed the major he received was laughable. I do not think this hit was dirty, but even if it was...now we are even. He got away with one and got harshly penalized for one. Should leave it at that.

Thank You IPW, That's pretty much what I said. Now it's being defended. How fucking strange is that?:confused:

Speaking of someone getting away with murder this series.......

Richards complaint was with the refs. I think he's finally adjusting his game to how the refs seem to be calling this series. Besides that though, Richards DID get a penalty called on him. The instances I referenced earlier were ones were the Flyers were wronged and didn't receive a PP...or worse they received a penalty for being hit (Hartnell, Carcillo, etc).

Since the articles we are using are coming from Crossing Broad, I will put this out there:

Here is Ruff's comment about the hit:

Tim’s not doing very good. I’ve watched it. I think it’s something the league definitely has to take a look at. It’s a lack of respect for another player on the ice, it’s from behind, it’s head first into the boards. That’s a tough play. We lost a good player.

Now here is what the guy writing the article then says:

Richards’ hit was dirty, but he was penalized for it.

Sounds like to me that if the hit was dirty, then what Ruff said makes sense instead of it being called whining.

I am talking about comments made by READERS of the article NOT the story itself. It's like here we re entitled to our opinions.

Well, since he seems to think the league should look at it (Richards needs to be suspended) even though most people DO NOT think Richards should be suspended...that kinda makes it look like whining/homerism.

Like I said before, even the Sabres beatwriter didn't think Richards should be suspended but for some reason Lindy wants the league to look at it. Like I said, he called Philly whiner and now he is the one whining. It's just ironic that's all.

I really don't see how that is whining since one of his players was taken out by a dirty hit, but ok?

Because the hit deserved a penalty and he was given one. The end. That hit is not worthy of a suspension.

All he said was the League should look at it since the League has said they are trying to remove these types of hits from the game.

It would be different if the player in question wasn't complaining just a few days prior and didn't have a history of these types of hits.

I agree with this. The five minute elbow was not deserving of five minutes, and I can see the boarding being worth 5 minutes. The officiating is basically the IRS, well, we overcharged you on your taxes? Well, here's a refund then! Also you are being audited.

Yet you don't find it ironic that the very same player that was complaining that the Sabres are getting away with murder, and saying that the refs are on the Sabres side, goes out there and lays a dirty hit on Connolly to take him out of the game?

Because if I can think of one guy I think we should run at and try to injure on the Sabres, it's Tim "Why do I get paid an NHL salary" Conolly. And not, you know, RYAN FREAKING MILLER. I don't think Richards was trying to injure him, I DO think that it's unfortunate he was hurt and that the hit was deserving of a penalty, and to be mean but honest, I think the Sabres are probably better off without the Con anyway.

Again...irony. Buffalo has been getting away with cheap-shotting Philly for much of the season and Ruff has a history for 'whining' himself so this whole thing is just ironic to me. I'm not supposed to point that out I guess though.
