I'm merely saying the team is roughly 5 or so games better with Nelson Cruz on the team. That may only mean the difference between 8.5 games back and 13.5 games back, but I'm merely saying he makes this team a lot better than it otherwise would've been.

I completely agree. Even though KC typically performs better against RHP. I have a bad feeling Montgomery gets shelled today and Guthrie makes Mariners hitters look like the turds that they are.

Interesting stat I just saw on Robinson Cano:

This year, 19.6% of the balls that Robinson Cano have hit in play went to the opposite field. That is in contrast with 28.7% last year, and a career rate of 26.7%.

It would be interesting to see what his batting average is on balls that Robbie hit to the opposite field, I'd have to imagine there is a connection between Cano's lack of going the other way and his regression statistically.

I think the fact that Felix was pitching, and the fact that Cano is being paid $24m per year just made me explode that much more.

Honestly I have been doing the same thing. It is hilarious how easy it is to predict the ways in which the Mariner offense will fuck up golden opportunities or knowing exactly where the pitcher will throw the next pitch to Zunino and knowing he won't be able to hit it, he will swing at a breaking ball out of the strike zone watch one go right down the middle then swing at a ball out of the strike zone again. You know what Cano has been one of the funniest to watch because he makes base running mistakes that little leaguer do difference is little leaguers get benched for their stupidity and Cano makes tens of millions. And one of my favorites is knowing that if the opposing pitcher is terrible there is a good chance we will see a no hitter.
