Cruz must be hurt. Ackley is pinch hitting for him.

I swear to God if Cano strikes out I'm taking 3 shots.

But to be the best you have to beat the best, no? You can't take away those games...

I'm just stating that he has had two terrible games. The Yankees are not exactly a great team and the Astros game is a huge aberration, 8 runs in 0.1 innings? Those two bad games completely dilute his entire season.

I'll take another 3 if we don't score any runs after putting Jackson on third with no outs.

It appears Cruz is hurt again. Was bound to happen having him play so much RF knowing that it would risk injury. what an organization

Maybe he hurt himself when he couldn't go back and catch the ball the hit halfway up the wall.

I guess I can't fully blame Lloyd. His GM thought having 1 outfielder and 3 DHs was ok

I don't think I have ever seen a team with such poor common baseball sense and it bites them every damn time. Free outs, free bases and free runs every night. Its beyond pathetic.

I have been saying the same all year. Getting beat by better teams is one thing. Getting beat by giving up outs is another.

I taped the Royals broadcast (by accident) and they are laughing about Zunino who has the worst average in the majors and then laughed about Ackley who has the 9th worst average. Then Hudler laughed at Ackely on his 2nd strike swinging saying how bad his swing is and that he has seen a better swing on a gate.

They also talked about Felix around the 3rd or 4th inning and said that he is nibbling for some reason when he doesn't have to because he is the King and he should just be blowing them away...agreed.

Last thing. They talked about outfield defense, after Cruz gave up on the ball off the wall, and sai Royals are a plus 38 I believe in outfield defense and Mariners are a negative 18.

Okay another last thing. They were talking about how bad M's hitting was and that must be disappointed because he was counting on guys like Zunino and Ackley to be better. HUH? Anybody counting on those two should be banned from baseball longer than Pete Rose.

We spend $175M on a pitcher who gets beat by a pitcher who Royals pay $6 a game.

Ben Revere swiped his 18th base while going 3-for-6 in Monday's victory versus the Yankees.

Revere has back-to-back three-hit games and has registered multiple hits in eight of his last 12 games. He's efficiently stolen 18 bases in 22 opportunities while batting .287/.325/.366 with 18 RBI and 36 runs scored.

Just saying...

I like Cruz so I won't give him much crap, but for all those M's guys and/or writers saying this could be a big blow just remember they haven't done shit with him in the lineup anyways. The one silver lining, I know wrong thread, is that we don't have any one player that would hurt us if they weren't able to play. Yes, we are that bad.

As sad as it is, I feel like the team would be significantly worse if we didn't have him. During that hot streak he was on, it felt like he was the only one in the lineup producing runs.

This where we disagree. 8.5 games back thru 71 games for a team picked to go all the way? It couldn't be worse in my eyes even if 15 games back. Right now we are in the spot we are always in, not good enough to make playoffs and not bad enough to dump and start selling off. I would rather be the Phillies at this point knowing what needs to be done. I mentioned before that 2009 we were in the same exact spot and it didn't go well from there for the next 6 and counting years.

I'm merely saying the team is roughly 5 or so games better with Nelson Cruz on the team. That may only mean the difference between 8.5 games back and 13.5 games back, but I'm merely saying he makes this team a lot better than it otherwise would've been.
