This numbskull believes shedding blockers isn't important for a LB in "today's NFL"? I'm guessing his interpretation of "today's NFL" is John Madden football games.
Don't know why I'm arguing with you, pretty pointless, but the NFL is a pass happy league, not a run happy league it used to be.

This might be blasphemy on this board: Urlacher sucked at shedding blocks too

Guess what- he's in the HOF for a good reason. If your LB is getting whacked by a G- your DL probably fucked up. Besides the point (which BS conveniently doesn't want to actually address) making RoQuan a run and chase LB mitigates any shedding he has to do in the first place...
Back to actual football discussion instead of seeing how big of a hissy fit BS will throw at the slightest of jabs

In the video posted, it's pretty much agreeing with what I am saying for the most part. I think Kollman has a habit of putting overly black and white statements out there for the sake of clicks/viewers; so the over the top stuff on the shedding ain't surprising and is easy to sell since RoQuan isn't a massive human being out there. Bottom line is yes you can live with a LB who is primarily just out there to run around, cover, and be a seek and destroy missile even if he isn't a 280 pound sledgehammer. Nothing wrong with that as long as the coaches have an imagination greater than that of a plant- aka Jeff Fisher. Use a player's strengths, not have excessive consternation over weaknesses. That's coaching 101 and if the coaches are acting like they have a traditional MLB out there- that's on them straight up.

These are the kind of plays you're drafting RoQuan to destroy, do not get distracted by all the sensationalistic bullshit about shedding blocks from people overly obsessed with stopping the run (or just trying to sound edgy and informed) which is mostly about run fits and numbers anyway.
