The longer we take to get this moving the less likely it'll happen this month. The NFL Mock starts March 30th...

How about this:

We do a NON HOF draft, 1940-2000

No salaries...

Players must have started their career 1940 or after and ended their career 2000 or earlier

Nos, I liked the rookie idea, but there was problems with it... Biggest problem was that if we took a certain period of time and only drafted within that time, then the pool would be so small that it would almost be like a normal fantasy draft... and the players would all be from the same generation... I have found that lots of the fun is to compare different generations in these drafts...

Ill do the cap, I don't love these caps because it takes away from the draft, but if this is what speeds things up I wont promote my idea anymore, even though I don't think it was well understood...

We can raise the cap from $120 to $160; or whatever. I think you just have to have something, or its impossible to pick a winner cause everyone is too good

Wait, let me try it this way... Take WAR out of the picture...

25 man draft

2 drafts:

First draft-10 round snake draft where you accumulate money
5 MIL per MVP/CY, 3 MIL for every league leading in any triple crown statistic per season, 3 mil for every league leader in ERA,WHIP, Ks
2 Mil for every league leader in Runs or SB...

2nd Draft-
11 round draft where no player can be HOF or Bonds or Clemens
Its a Non snake draft, so whoever picks first picks first in every round...

Draft order is based on the first draft, whoever has the least money spent goes first and most money spent goes last.

one of the players in the 2nd draft must be a MLB Franchise, after the draft you can finish your team off with any NON HOF player that played for that franchise

Players Must have retired by 2009...

Honestly I don't care which type of draft we do as long as we do it soon. Remember we still need 3 more people, I PM'd Shane, Jeffro, Bums and Steve yesterday. Jeffro's wife is due today, Shane started a new job and I havent heard back from Bums or Steve.

Milk, that's just too complicated IMO, not that guys can't adhere, but it gives Nos just a shitload to keep up with, especially when it's gonna be a 2 week deal. The two weeks is easy in a normal draft, but it would take a week to get ready on research this way
How about.....1940's though 2000, select any player you like, no cap but a max of 5 HOFers per team. Easy

Not sure why you have money involved in that draft.

Its to create strategy, its just like using the salary budget, but it keeps the draft more meaningful... Think of it as a Hybrid salary and draft...

But it serves no purpose, if we aren't drafting HOFers in the 2nd draft who cares who drafts first.

Personally, I would rather do a draft with NO HOFers then...

How about....you can draft all HOF's for one facet of your team.....3 OF's and DH, 4 IF's, 4 SP's, or 4 Reliever/closers. Rest of the team and bench can't be in Hall. Each GM can choose where they want their HOFers.... No cap

Might be kinda crazy not to draft your HOFers as your SP's???

I still like drafting a 25 man team from 25 different years. We can use 1940 - 2000. It does not have to be 25 consecutive years, you just can't use the same year twice.
