Thats the question. Can he evaluate raw talent. That was the knock on him in Tampa. Guess we will see in a month.

I was, too. In fact, I was surprised we brought him back. He proved to be good insurance, when Orakpo went down in 2012. In fact, he was more a true LB. He is very good in coverage and made some key INTs. He's not the pass-rusher that Orakpo is, but still.

He can't cover anybody. His INT weren't in coverage...he fell into the zone and Romo didn't see him.

Don't forget about the pick-six vs. the Bengals. He had another one or two. I can't remember. Still, he's a pretty good backup.

Completely diagree. Jackson isn't the pass rusher Orakpo is but he is better in coverage and in the run game. I agree he isn't as fast as Orakpo.

He is not the overall player Rak is by any means but brings solid back up skills. I don't recall if Jackson plays ST, does he?

In most 3-4 defenses the OLB are essentially the DEs. They are the pass rush pressure guys. That is what Orakpo does best, You've seen dad say 100 times that he wants Haslett to allow Orakpo to rush more like OLBs in other 3-4 defenses. In Haslett's D the OLBs are responsible primarily for covering the flat in a number of the sets he runs. IMO Jackson does this better than Orakpo but Orakpo is a better OLB in a traditional 3-4 alignment. I also think Jackson plays the run better but that is because Orakpo commits deeper into the backfield. When Orakpo doesn't do that then he is a better run defender also.
