I'm wondering the same about Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain.

Their time in NY is at an end.

I dislike Joba only second to Josh Hamilton in all of MLB. I think most NL teams fans would revolt if management signed him.

Somebody definitely takes a shot at Hughes. He pitched well sway from Yankee Stadium this season, I believe. He could be a fit in places like San Diego (Hammer) or even the Mets.

Joba may not be worth the trouble, but it would be interesting to see if he gets a major league contract.

Oh something else I noticed last night in the Rays game. That kid Wil Meyers makes Bryce Harper look humble. Talk about COCKY.

He's just completely ineffective. He can't fool anyone anymore. Maybe if he's desperate to catch on, the Padres can try to use him as a situational lefty like they did with Joe Thatcher? Surely he's not interested in facing one or two batters a night though, unless he's a stats guy and wants to try to lower his career ERA and get a K or two?

I think he is more likely to join Tim Flannery's band, but that is just my feeling.

By his kind you mean the kind that cant handle pressure and being criticized, right?

correct. when you make $20mill/yr, you shouldn't have to put up with pressure and criticism of the media/fans.

I could last maybe 10 pitches at 84 and they'd be flat fastballs. :D

Too bad my baseball career peaked at about 13........

I was good ( never fast ), and coulda been somebody......

However, I threw junk from the get go, and, now, I suffer from Johnny Damon arm.

Nothing in particular. He's just got that A-Rod/Bryce Harper swagger.

Oh, that.

After seeing that Rosenthal closed out the Cards win today, it made me think.

Will he be their closer in the post season? Do they return to Mujica? Or, do they forgo a closer per se, and give the kid Wacha a shot to do it this post season only, ala Wainwright from a few years ago?

Hmm...
