cleveland finally found a real QB :suds:

Coming off his surprisingly effective performance while leading the Browns to a victory vs. the Vikings last Sunday, quarterback Brian Hoyer will get another opportunity this week to unseat the injured Brandon Weeden from his starting job.
Cleveland coach Rob Chudzinski said Wednesday morning that Weeden and his sprained thumb won't be ready to play this week, meaning Hoyer will start vs. the Bengals. Chudzinski also said he hopes Weeden can begin throwing later this week, but it won't be quick enough to get him ready for Sunday.
Chudzinski also praised the ability of Hoyer -- who went 30 of 54 for 321 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions last week -- to get the ball out quickly, making his offensive line fare better vs. Minnesota.
For now, the Browns starting job will be a week-to-week decision, Chudzinski said.
But it'd be tough not to believe if Hoyer continues to impress, the job will remain with him even when Weeden returns to health.

Dodgers getting the gift of a Zito start today. Kinda wishing I wasn't going to the game tonight. :gaah:

Just be happy that the Giants don't have to pay his contract anymore, and that he will be pitching for the Yankees next season.

Any number of relievers are a safer bet not to juice the sacks. Cant always rely on a Giambi or Carson or Brantley to blast a walkoff & save his sorry ass

I thought Indians fans like Tito?

He'll probably have the best outing of his life tonight and the front office will be like, "He's AMAZING!! Let's pick up his option! YAY!"

But does that really matter? What are the dodgers playing for tonight anyway?

I can totally see Zito on the Padres or Dodgers if the Giants will eat the contract. Zito has palaces in La Jolla (SD) and Beverly Hills so it'd be perfect.

Home field, I think. Not that it matters either... I think their road record is almost identical to the home record.

But I just hate them so I want them to lose. And against Zito would be nearly comical. I think the number on his jersey is the max velocity of his fastball these days.

Pride. It's the Giants.

I just put blew my vCash wad on the Dodgers tonight. I hope to parlay that tomorrow night on the Rams. They're giving them 3.5 points. I'll take that all day long.

If you gave me a week to get ready, I'd put my fastball up against Zito.

As much as he loves baseball, I think he's done. With his father passing this year, it's probably put things in a different perspective. He's rich, bitch and can follow his dreams of being a restaurateur or travelling with Metallica or whatever it is he wants to do now. :noidea: Thanks for 2012.

The only lingering quesiton I have concerning him. Does he quit on the game, or, does the game quit him ( a.k.a, no real offers from anyone)?

I'm wondering the same about Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain.

Their time in NY is at an end.

He's just completely ineffective. He can't fool anyone anymore. Maybe if he's desperate to catch on, the Padres can try to use him as a situational lefty like they did with Joe Thatcher? Surely he's not interested in facing one or two batters a night though, unless he's a stats guy and wants to try to lower his career ERA and get a K or two?

Stupid work.

It's getting in the way of checking daytime lineups.

I just now see that Trout is taking a day off.
