BigD, why haven't the Dodgers locked up Kershaw yet?

And...

What is a bigger priority, getting Cano or re-upping Kershaw?

I don't think they can have both.

The Dodgers drop Beckett's contract after next season ($15.75mm), and have some other expiring contracts after 2013.

The way I see it, they were signing Kershaw anyway. It is just a matter of finding the money for Cano (or Hanley Ramirez). I still think the Yankees HAVE TO pony up to keep Cano. With no other help on the horizon from the minors and thin pitching, they need somebody on the team that can actually play.

Whoever signs him will regret the contract in 3 years.

?? Probably the old "we will not negociate during the season" thing.

7 BILLION new T.V dolars. 7 Billion.

I think they can swing it, if they want to.

Because as much as everyone likes to make them out to be this bottomless pit of money that can afford a $500MM payroll I think that they have their limits just like everyone else.

Besides, if they were a bottomless pit of money wouldn't they have locked up Kershaw by now?

The parameters are there for a new contract. It is just not finalized yet. Probably soon after the season ends for them. I thought I saw about $200mm for 7 years.

hi

who the fuck are you?

You see the name. You don't remember the avatar?

I know I do. I just am undecided that his being here is a good thing, as I just flat can not remember.

Kershaw not talk? His big fat mouth never stops running. Someone's going to stick a fist in it one of these days.

Imagine if in some crazy, backwards, alternate universe that Kershaw somehow got traded to SF. Hammer would spontaneously combust.

With 2 games done, and 2 at or over the halfway point, I have decided that all the wrong players are getting the hits today.

My opinion (and that's all this is) on the Yankees is they are prepping to be sold, the deal that sent 49% of the YES Network to News Corporation, was just the beginning.

The Steinbrenner boys are trying to make the team as pretty as possible to prospective buyers, and that doesn't have anything to do winning, trim payroll and get rid of the luxury tax and sell sell sell.

Home field, I think. Not that it matters either... I think their road record is almost identical to the home record.

But I just hate them so I want them to lose. And against Zito would be nearly comical. I think the number on his jersey is the max velocity of his fastball these days.

Thought they already got that too

And, will that be a net good thing? I would guess yes, but i'm curious as to your feelings.
