Sherman acts nohing like a thug. He mouthed during the Saints game but praised them after the game was over. A shit talker gets a mic shoved in his face after the game and what do you expect? What did he say that wasn't true? Calling Crabtree mediocre is a compliment from his performances against the Seahawks is it not?

I'd hate Sherman's antics if he were on another team too but you can't say anything negative about his game so labelling a clean playing great player a thug still has an undertone of he's acting like a n*gger instead of comforming.

Then the people who are calling Richie Incognito a thug must be racist against white people... Correct? Or would it have been OK and not racist to call Sherman a thug if he did something "thuggish"?

I watched the entire interview. It was a real insight into a special person/player. And the media chose to focus on thug.

Typical bullshit from the media to get ratings and stir shit up. If you knew the truth about him you wouldn't be such a bunch of media sheep.

Yeah he was actually kind of funny. He talked about a recent hockey game he saw where when they dropped the puck everyone squared off and started pounding on each other "but I'm a thug because I talked too loud in an interview ?". It got a good laugh. He's not at all a dumb guy or lacking in humor.

I agree with chicagoirish. the word 'thug' has been around since i was a kid (which was a long time ago) and in my white world it was always used to describe a criminal regardless of color.......... someone who steals, cheats, bullies, etc. and is just generally a menace to society, again regardless of color. we had a lot of thugs in my neighborhood and none of them were black, mainly because there were not a lot of black people and the black people we had were actually better kids than we were. i've personally never related that word to any color but I understand that it may have a different meaning now.
