Let me see if I've got this right. It's so important not to offend anyone's sensitivities.

It's a racial slur if you unfavorably discuss someone who is a different ethnicity than you.
But what happens when it's a white guy calling out a white guy or a black doing the same to a black?
Blacks are allowed to use "thug," "gangsta," the "n" word, and other common insults, but whites aren't. However, it's ok to call someone a cracker, honky, or other similar derogatory terms.
Only whites can be racist.
If one belongs to a minority group they get a pass, but God help you if you aren't.
If your team wins, you get to rant and rave, but if your team loses, you can't.

Help me out, I'm confused.

I don't mind the talking. I just think taunting is classless and a punk move by anyone. People may think this is a fine line, but I don't. If Sherman was talking shit before the interception play...whatever. It was the taunting (i.e. mocking handshake and then choke sign) that was classless.

Context is important in this case IMO. I think Sherman is probably right in alot of instances as it pertains to use of the word thug.

In my opinion...there are too many African Americans who profit substantially by attaching the thug label to themselves, for Sherman's argument to hold water.

IMHO, Sherman played the race card because he did something stupid. That something stupid had nothing to do with the color of his skin.

I don't think he's a thug.

When I picture a thug I think of either Aaron Hernadez or Rae Carruth - both in prison for murder.
