Johnson isn't leaving the Lions for the Bears IMO. He could have left for Atlanta or any number of teams last off-season.

Carroll is too old? If you have his energy at 73 you'd be so lucky.....he would be an excellent coach for any number of teams.

Ben Johnson is on my wishlist.....plus theres been stories out the from last offseason he was interested in coming to Chicago.....
Whether thats true or not,I dunno, cause I dont believe everything I hear from them beat writers.....they are just out sell stories.....

And I dont care how much energy he has.........

So still no.

Give me Ben Johnson for the win.......Bears I believe need an offensive coach.....

Bill has never anything until Tom Brady came along.....
Vrabel wouldnt be bad,but as I said, cause I believe he could get that team motivated....but Id rather have an offensive minded coach....
And Carroll,too old.
The bigger part of Carroll is actually not changing the offense, and actually running this offense correctly.

Ben Johnson is a good choice, might make me feel like I do when I see Campbell in Detroit, but then what happens on defense? Do we want to watch another coach turn coordinator in the same system like we did when Fangio left? It got ugly quick. We watched the same crap on offense before when gase left and they just figured Loggains could run his system.

Which is even a bigger suggestion for Carroll. Hell, feel him out, see if he wants to be a consultant and train the next guy to run his system. I mean, Pete "retired" and when he tried to unretire they said no. So there is no contract he is getting paid to take the year off like Saleh. That man could have sat home with a 5 million dollar paycheck, but took a job with the Packers. For all we know Pete could straighten out Waldron. Just depends on what he is looking for. 73 like Carroll or Bellidick should be front office help and consulting coaches.

Havent you had enough of that? Loggains was a train wreck, Pagano running Fangios system was not so good either.

I dont want to hear about Caleb Williams having a different coordinator AND different system to learn every year because the bears picked the wrong coach. I dont want them thinking that Pagano or Desai could run the fangio system.

Waldron is not using a system he made up all by himself, he is running Seattles system, which was Carrolls system. I hardly think that is equal to just any coach.

We have all had a gut full of this shit.....so ya I have.

So to me,just get any coach then, cause we sll will probably not agree who to hire.....

I would like to see a coach, who has been reported to wanting to be here and thats been running a high powered offense......
Johnson has been talked about the league on being the next top hire......
And Im not gonna argue who they hire either......

So ya,Im for whoever they hire then........

Chicago does not fit a high powered offense. You think Detroit is a cold city? Last week was the first outdoor game they played all season. We are a decade away from getting a dome. Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball, short passes, big explosive bombs when you put the defenders to sleep. You are taking me back even farther with expecting Martz to run the greatest show on turf here in december and January on a muddy shit sod field. You know how I feel about chemistry, that means YOU DONT FUCKING PAY DJ MOORE 110 MILLION UNTIL YOU SEE HOW HE PLAYS WITH YOUR NEW GOLDENBOY WHEN HE IS UNDER FUCKING CONTRACT. I think Caleb will have something special with Rome, but how can he feed him the football when Moore is bitching and moaning?

I want them to hire the right coach, the right staff for that coach which means that coach picks his staff. The last thing I want to hear is how they hired a consultant to tell them who to hire again.

Might only be speculation. Or coinsidence. But it may give hope.

nice story, wish the ties with Johnson were a little bit closer, you know, like Kingsbury having him at USC.

I was expecting to read that Ben Johnson spent time training williams. Did it basically just say they have the same agent?

No. Ben's agent is Richmond Flowers. Flowers started the QB Collective which Caleb has been involved in since high school.

i thought it was more telling that when the Bears didnt fire Eberflus, Ben Johnson declined other head coaching opportunities.

OK, I guess I feel the same way, I wish Ben was involved with Caleb then.

If the rumors are true that Eberflus has lost the locker room, then Poles has 2 choices: (1) fire Eberflus or (2) replace the 53-man locker room.

Otherwise, this is life as we know it.

It isn’t even a rumor. Listen to the players’ interviews. They don’t back him up at all.

Poles Twinkie gobbling bum should be fired too, for not firing Eberflustered last year! The second he knew he was drafting Caleb he should have had Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik on the phone!

Even I say that I can't help but think this is the McCaskeys doing. I found it way to odd that the team keeps making the same glaring mistake of drafting a QB in a coaches' lame duck year then forcing the kid on a new coach. Pace is gone then his successor does the same exact error? The only consistent factor is the McCaskey not letting their GM do what he sees fit?

But what changed over this past weekend? Even if they change the play caller, they are still the wrong plays.

What I saw most of the time they showed Williams on the bench was Caleb staring off into space if Waldron was sitting next to him on the surface, or Caleb staring off into space with no coaches around him.

At the end they showed Bagent warming up for that final series after the shit they took in Arizona, and no coaches around Caleb and him just going back on the field.

The bad part is we do not know what is going on in the building. All we do is make an ass out of u & me. But when Moose is saying what he is on the telecast, its pretty much the same confusion he sees. But maybe he is just upset that he is delegated down to this terrible game with his experience as a broadcaster.

Thats what would change. They wouldnt be running plays out of Waldron's play book.

But as @beardown07 mentioned, if the org hasnt made a change early Monday morning, timing would suggest they wont.

btw
Saw a blurb that Kliff Kingsbury has leap-frogged Ben Johnson as the next Bears HC.

Fun Fact: Of the 17 teams from 2011 to 2020 that have fired their coach midseason have gone 10-7 their next game. Doesnt include the kast 3 seasons but Jets won after firing Selah.

Schefty on McAfee said they could switch play callers and that Bagent could be a real possibility....
