If they are keeping the Fluke, there has to be a co head coach offensive coordinator hired. Mid season, right now, I will throw out a name, Pete Carroll.
All Waldron is trying to do is run Petes system and calling it his own. They say Pete wants to coach again, so it could salvage this team right now to hire him as offensive coordinator with the handshake deal to be elevated if the Fluke cannot run the defensive side.
It should not technically screw up the quarterback if they are not changing systems.

Might be the worst fucking idea I've heard. And there was a guy on Twitter saying they should bring back Adam Gase.

He is without a doubt, GONE, after the season. Why wait?

Promote Eric Washington to interim HC, and let's fucking get on with it. Never should've kept this clown. Massive mistake.

Dennis Allen got fired today, and apparently it has not clicked in Poles or Warrens head like " hey man, dont you think we should follow suit"

But apparently it has not......yet anyways.

Yep, all the pressure of being the first team to fire their coach is gone now. JUST DO IT!

Saw more negative press today about his sideline interview at halftime. Eberflus' comments were described as generic.
Bears came out after halftime and scored a total of ZERO points.
well, I think part of this is the new NFL requirement for head coaches to be available to the tv crew at halftime because alot of coaches are not really interested in talking, let alone those getting their asses handed to them.

Probably the last winnable game on the schedule at home against the Patriots. I say winnable if it was played in September. If he shits the bed at home it might be enough. Bad part is winning against the Patriots should not be a measuring stick to keeping him if somehow they do win.

I'm guessing no matter what the Bears will have a new coach next year, but they probably won't fire him in season. I do know one thing for sure, they really can't whiff on the next hire. It will need to be an actual coach with an actual modern offensive mind and not some retread of defense guy. The Bears are in a tough spot as the other coaches in the division are not bad coaches, in my estimation they all understand the modern NFL and that puts even more pressure on the Bears to get it right.

That would never happen due to two losses, following a 4-2 start. No one would do that unless there was something else involved besides simply team performance (legal issues, scandal, etc.).

Now, losing to New England, at home? Yeah, that would be bad.

Oh, we CAN whiff and if history is an indicator - we will.

This side of the century alone, I have seen an ENDLESS stream of "we can't miss this one" hires with coaches, GM's, OC's, and "can't miss this" draft pick when selecting the next franchise QB. We've botched them all, just about.

Lovie Smith is the closest thing to a successful HC we've had outside of Ditka (and Halas back in ancient times). I'm not even a Ditka fan as a HC, but if you win your franchise's only SB and produce the 85 Bears (not to mention the most competitive decade in our team's modern history)? It's gotta be called a success.

There's things in place here to be happy and optimistic about. However, the horrifying reality is that we could be right back starting this all over in a couple of years after Caleb/the new HC go bust.

Flus saved his job with a string of wins in the 2nd half last season. It's his only hope this season as well. This time, it has to end (bare minimum) in a playoff berth. I thought we were headed for a playoff berth until the hail Mary. Then, I said "let's see how this team responds to all of this"... and oof. I sense a full blown spiral incoming, with the worst of our schedule ahead of us, following the New England home game this Sunday.

IMO, we will likely beat New England and a big stir will be created around the Green Bay game. Players will talk about how motivated they are, etc. And guess what? We'll lay a big ole stink bomb against you guys, just like always! That will TRULY kick off the sad, pitiful end to the Eberflus era.

But what Ditka did when he was productive was to have a competent guy to run the other side of the ball. That changed when they carried Buddy Ryan off the field and it was clear that his Ego could not handle Ryan getting all the credit. That is the difference now.
Being a head coach and a "great defensive mind" should have him stopping a play with a time out because he would expect it. Todays NFL seems to be to make sure you do not have someone who can take your job.
It is working now in Washington, the defensive head coach and a head coach running the offense.
I dont think KK will be there next year after getting another head coaching job, but that is the dynamic you need when you have a head coach that either wants to be an offensive or defensive coordinator, instead of paying attention to all aspects of the game.
If Everfluke wants to keep his job, then a Pete Carroll to continue running his system and firing Waldron would be the best route for a mid season change. If Fluke does not accept it, then Pete gets his job. I think Washington is more prepared to run this defense than Waldron is to run the offense.

We're not hiring Pete Carroll. We're riding the Flus train into whatever path it takes us and then we'll make a move at the end of the season...

...and then we still won't hire Pete Carroll.

I just thought it would be refreshing for the receivers and quarterbacks to sit in a room and say, "Oh, so that is how we are supposed to run that play, it might work now."
I dont think DJ Moore ran out of bounds and to the bench because Caleb did not throw the ball, it was more of why am I the only one here with three defenders.

He ran out cuz he tweaked something. And cuz he's being a bitch.
