You all actually think Detroit will let you interview Ben Johnson? Not a shot in hell

I'm confused at what you are saying here. In season you mean? My understanding is Ben Johnson is a potential head coach candidate this offseason. Thus why his name keeps coming up for the Bears. Because Flus is a goner on Black Monday.

Umm, the lions can't stop him
Technically they can. All teams can do is request to interview coaches they have under contract. They usually let them since its the only gentlemans rules left in the NFL, but Detroit can deny permission. This will lead to the coach no doubt leaving when he can, but he is leaving on their terms.

They can't block HC interviews and they even expanded it to offensive/defensive/ST coordinator roles

well, I guess right back at him since Warren is doing everything possible to show Phillips wasted 350 million dollars buying the Arlington Heights land I guess.
I have too much to rant on, but i will focus on what you mentioned.

Ted Phillips is still part of the Bears org. He may not be "President of Football Ops" but he must carry way too much influence.

Here we are in the middle of a football season and all you hear about Warren is the various properties he's looking at. He is a glorified realtor with a football title.

Did you guys hear the sound bite that Eberflus didnt want to run another play because he was afraid of fumbling?

This dude is spot on.......

Its been talked about on the talking head shows this morning.....
Eberlose had a timeout in his pocket,31 seconds left, and Eberlose chose to let the time run down to 3 seconds before using that time out.......

There was a graphic they shown that Santos is 100% since 2020 on fgs under 40,70 of 70 tries......
45+ yards he was at 76% at 32 of 42.....
Analytics say its a 0.46% of fumbling.....

Caleb was killin it,no need not to think we could not of made up a few more yards.....

It doesnt matter tho......I thought we were gonna get blown out to begin with.

but it wasnt just the 30 seconds. They were running the clock from over a minute before they even ran the one play they did run. First down with over a minute to go, took 30 seconds to run the first play, then were afraid to run another play on second down. Brady was losing his shit in the booth. Why are they taking so much time. The fudge were shocked they had no desire to run another play. I said shots to the end zone, but throwing to the first row would have stopped the clock. Ok, so you throw to the end zone once and then run another play with 20 some seconds left and use the time out. No, they were afraid Caleb was going to take another double-digit yard sack and turn our only chance into a Hail Mary.

The one thing is showed was Everfluke was the one managing the clock, I bet Thomas was calling in plays and the fluke had no faith.

Jets just fired their GM.
Here's some comparisons from a couple of X posts:

Jets were 37-56-1 under GM Joe Douglas, 2nd-worst mark in that span ahead of just the Bears.

From @PaulHembo on @GetUp: The Bears are 5-17 in one-score games under Matt Eberflus since 2022, the worst record in the NFL.

at least Poles did not get untradable players to take up 80 million a year of their cap space. DJ can still go somewhere for a first rounder, teams would trade for Kmet as well.

Can we just bring Rodgers in for a few weeks? See if he can work his magic to get Eberflus fired? :hail:

Well, dare I say, I would not have a problem with keeping Poles.

Bears treat their GMs like they treat rookie QBs. Many of the decisions - like hiring Eberflus - were made for him thanks to Bill Pollian. (That fact is even on the Bears' own website.) As an org, the executive are business types and lawyers. They even admit they have zero football acumen.

Poles was a rookie GM, similar to Trubisky, Fields and Williams, Poles was on his own to develop as a GM. There's no one he can consult with above him, or mentor him.
If they fire Poles and hire another rookie GM, it will be more of the same.

Sadly, I am pretty sure Warren eventually wants his own guy. The way he is shitting all over Arlington Heights stadium plan, for what seems to be because it was not his idea makes him seem like he is all about HIS legacy. Maybe I have not seen many players pulled out of practice to sign an extension, maybe it was the last time I watched the HBO show and it was their cameras, but for him to be in the room when the bears sign the biggest contract in their history just made me feel that way. GM, agent DJ, and fine if they snuck his family in. I seriously do not know how smart Warren is regarding NFL football, but he sure seems to be making the effort to show that he is the smartest guy in the room now. I dont expect any consultants in on the next GM decision.

HBO..... Poles always makes me think of Rocks show Ballers when the old OLineman takes over as GM. The biggest difference? Ballers GM was a player that had a long career in the NFL. I will always go back to watching John Lynch, break his cherry as GM by fleecing the Bears to allow them up one spot to not take Mahomes when there was no way the niners were taking a quarterback, any quarterback. Imagine if we stayed at 3 and Lynch took Trubisky. we kept the picks we gave up and took Mahomes instead (since Patrick has said multiple times that the bears told him they were taking him). Pace might still be GM.

Face it, we are a trainwreck. I think Warren knows it, I bet the decisions are all Warrens now even though the bears never had a president to do anything but run the business side, make sure they were getting their cuts from NFL Jersey sales etc.

Interesting read.

It mentions Vrabel as a strong candidate for HC. (In 6 seasons with the Titans, he made the playoffs 3 times.) Warren leans to a guy whonhas HC experience.

But it also mentions current OC Thomas Brown as a possibility. He is a McVay disciple, just like LaFluer and Kevin O'Connell.

This dude has been making shit up as he goes on this message board for years. It's genuinely astonishing at this point.

I've seen dumb posters, but this dude (for well over a decade) continues to just create his own reality.
