We are not going to catch the Astros. They’ve been playing too well. Our only shot is to get a wildcard spot. Kansas City and the Twins haven’t been playing that great. But neither have we. Can’t be losing to Angels. We’ve lost four out of our last five to the Angels all by one run.

Power bats do K a lot I get that but i'll take a .255 avg with 30+ HRs and over 100RBIs. Combine that with contact hitters, just not past there prime like you say than it can become a descent lineup. Also to you point, yes they won't spend for a power bat or 2.

Suarez and Teo were close to that and banished for it. Hard to see that signed again as long as DIPoto is still around.

You summarized mlb twitter. It's not even specific to the Ms. The biggest fan accounts are all fantasy baseball nerds who think numbers on a screen mean more than what they see evey day.

Our lineup isnt a couple pieces away from being good. It's catastrophically bad from top to bottom.

This team has no clue how to win and just gives away baseball games

Julio Chucks a flyball out from the warning track late in the game to try to get a runner out at third base and go ahead run advances to second and eventually scores a moment later on a base hit off the shortstops glove

Then Luke Raley gets a base hit as the tying run gets on base doesn’t slide into second base and is doubled up. Game over season over.

The Mariners have absolutely no discipline in how to play the game of baseball

No reason for that loss. They ended up giving up 2 in the 5th because Julio threw toward 3rd instead of 2nd/short on a fly with runners at 1st and 2nd. There's no excuse for giving up both runners advancing. Had he thrown it where he should it's a 2-2 game.

They have too many unforced errors for a team that also can't hit

That cost the winning run, but 6 LOB and 0-4 RISP is the same old glaring problem they can't solve this year.
