Well if the game was in Denver I would say good chance you guys win but with the game in Oakland we seem to have owned you guys on the road. Plus the Raiders just haven't been a good home team lately for some reason. Right now they are 1-2 at home and 3-0 on the road. Last year they were 3-5 at home and 4-4 on the road. The last decent season the Raiders had in 2011 when they went 8-8 they again were 5-3 on the road and 3-5 at home. So homefield just has not been kind.
That's a prime time game too i believe.. Im excited for the game for sure, just not ready to call it yet..
And it's weird how the RAIDERS can't seem to win at home?! But sooner or later that cheery gets popped!!
And what better team to do that against than the Broncos..
After a two game tour in Florida the RAIDERS will be ready for some home cooking..

Do you know if they are planning on just staying on the East Coast between games or are they flying back to Oakland in between?

I believe JDR said at his presser that they were staying there for both games.. But this was a while back, so im not real sure if that still stands.. But i would imagine they would.. It won't make sense to go in for one game, then go back home for a few days then right back..

Yeah I would be shocked if they came back and would really question that coaching decision if they did. Plus sometimes those road trips like that where you can't go home are some of the best bonding times for teams.

Agreed.. So Osweiler is starting to talk trash back at the Broncos eh?? Hmmmm I think that will be a good matchup.. The Texans have some good weapons, and no JJ Watt but a solid D..

Definitely should be a fun one. You can tell the Bronco's defense cannot wait to hit him and I'm sure he wants to come into Denver and show why they should have respected him a bit more. Honestly though I'm not too worried about our defense containing the Texans offense. I'm more worried about our offense matching up against that defense. Even without Watt they are still a great defense. They are just outside the top-10 in most defensive stats. Probably our toughest test so far on offense and after 2 really bad games by the offense this definitely has to be a statement game. I have loved all the info coming out of Denver of players like the entire OL staying after practice to get extra time in to improve communication or the Broncos having a meeting where every player had to stand before the team and hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and then talk about them with the entire team of how they plan to improve and to hold them accountable to that. Just have to see if any fruits come from that.

Anything you are looking for in your match up with the Jaguars? They have an explosive offense and a ton of playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. They kind of remind me a bit of a poor man's Raider's team of having the talent but not always seeing that come together especially on the defensive side of the ball.

As far as the Denver game goes?? I think the Denver D can hold them to a low scoring game.. This will come down to the the Texan Defense against the Bronco Offense.. Just like those other two games you guys lost..
The Texans only need 17 or so points to win, thats all i think you guys give up in points to the Texans anyways, so it comes down to their D vs your O..

In my game?? All im looking for is a win man!! But it's true what you just said about them.. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.. That game good game man..

Just at looking at recent history it does seem that the Raiders have struggled in Florida. In the last 13 games they have played in Florida they are only 2-11. They have never beaten Jacksonville in Jacksonville. Now history is just that and it is a new stadium but there is something to west coast teams going to the east coast. They have done quite a few studies to show there is a huge disadvantage for west coast teams having to travel to different time zones compared to that of east going west. Throw int he 10 a.m. start times and it definitely adds some struggles for the Raiders to win either of these next 2 games.

At one time history said the RAIDERS were a bad road team, that no longer is a problem.. Football is about who has the better team that day.. And Sunday we will find out..

See and this is where I would disagree. Paper champions don't always mean champions in real life. Something like 55% of all games are decided by a touchdown or less. The Raiders until this last game have had every game decided by a touchdown or less. So they could be 0-6 or 5-1 right now depending just how the ball bounced. Look at the Chargers...The odds of the games going the way they did with them holding such big leads in the 4th quarter in most games is like the odds of you or I winning the lottery. They have played well enough that they should be 6-0 if the odds makers are right and they have had games where 90% or more they should have won the game but somehow found ways to lose.

Another great example is that of West Coast teams going to the East Coast. They lose on a much higher rate than any other time zone that they play in. Yet that is not the case. Now the reasons this happens have been debated by many but I would say the early start times considering how bodies have been tuned to function at certain times and 10 a.m. for West Coast teams is not usually that time is why I think they struggle. You add in some teams just match up better against other teams. Such as the Broncos have struggled to beat the Colts for a very long time. The Colts have struggled to beat the Patriots for a very long time. The Patriots have struggled to beat the Broncos for a very long time. So sometimes match ups just play a bigger role than some think. Home Field advantage has helped lesser teams to find ways to victory. You have turnovers that are the great equalizer in football. So much plays into it that not always does the better team truly come out on top. They could play the game 10 times and that other team might win it 9 of the 10 but all it takes is that one time when it counts for it to shock the world.

What are you talking about, paper champs??
And does it matter how games are decided?? Winning is all that maters cd, whether you WIN by 1 or 33, it's just silly to say otherwise.. Well, you can be 0-6 or 6-0 because of the close games you played is just silly talk.. The RAIDERS are 4-2 as now and that's what matters.. I really don't care how we win as long as we keep winning.. That's the name of the game..

And i agree that it's a game of matchups.. Some teams just matchup petty good against other teams regardless of records.. A good example of that is division play across the league.. The better team don't always win..

Going back East for early AM games is pretty tough for West Coast teams for a lot of the reasons you just said..
The RAIDERS had that problem for awhile, but it seems like they finally broke that streak.. Now does that mean we will win all the time in those AM games?? No!! Im sure we will struggle at times, as a lot of West Coast teams do.. The RAIDERS can play in the East or West, win 1 or 33 that only thing that matters JUST WIN BABY!!

Every year there are those teams called "paper champs." On paper they look like the best teams in the league. That doesn't always mean success on the field though. So many things factor into games that you just cannot account for.

And you are right a win is a win but not all wins are created equal. There are those times that a team just gets a really lucky break to go their way in a close game. I've watched a football bounce through the hands of 5 players on the same team and somehow end up in the hands of the other team. Or the hail mary/onside kick. Those type of plays only work like 5% of the time if not less so to actually have that work in your favor is luck. Do you remember the play by Brad Johnson where he tried to pass and the ball was batted down but he caught it and then ran it for a touchdown? Only time in NFL history that has ever happened. Late game lateral plays that never work except a few times in NFL history.

The truth of the matter is, there's 32 paper champs this year.. It's paper till a team wins the SB.. You can call every team in the league right now a paper champ!! You guys are a the defending champs from last year, but this year you guys too are paper champs.. Every year brings out 32 paper champs, and one of those teams become solid wood and win the SB..

And of course every team NEEDS some luck along with good play in order to win in this league..
Just look at the Falcons Vs RAIDERS game.. Late int the game Ryan throws it up, and the ball goes right into Sean Smiths hands and bounces out of his hands and into some Falcons players hands for a TD.. Twice that happened.. So the Falcons NEEDED luck to beat the RAIDERS!! Did you guys not have lady luck ALL of last year in that SB run?? Of course.. So you need luck as well as good play..

So that 2nd paragraph is exactly what I'm talking about. Luck is a part of the game. Which means sometimes the team that plays the best throughout the game doesn't actually win. Maybe they have a few bounces that go completely the wrong way. When so many games are decided by so little a bounce here or there really does make a huge difference. Heck we saw this last week how much a missed call could have cost a team a game in the Falcons/Seahawks game where the missed PI at the end of the game should have set the Falcons up for a game winning field goal. That is all I'm saying is that does happen in this league.

As for every team being paper champions I would disagree. There were teams before this season started that unless some rookies just went nuts we could pretty much rule that they were not going to be competitive this year. The Browns come to mind. I think they are heading in the right direction with Hue Jackson as the HC and I think with the draft picks they have loaded up on they should have a good chance to keep building a strong young roster but this year it was pretty obvious with just depending on so many young players that this was a get those players some experience and build some team chemistry type season.

That why we should of won that Falcons game!! And it was not only those plays i mentioned but the HORRID refs calls and non calls as well..

And again cd, every team is a paper champ as of now.. I mean, ain't no won the SB yet, or have they?? No they have not.. So we all in the same boat as of now..Paper champs!! Oh, the media can pump this team or that team but it don't change the simple fact that ALL teams as of now are nothing more than paper champs.. It is what it is.. As much it pains me to say this?? There's only one champ, the defending champs.. The rest are just paper till they take that ring..

cd, do you wish that you guys punish and hurt Osweiler?? I mean do you want to pummel him??
