I think we can all agree that im not allowed to make anymore threads.
Nah man.. Make one for the Donk game as well.. AFCW games are special and should have their own thread..I think we can all agree that im not allowed to make anymore threads.
This game set up perfect for KC.. The RAIDERS are all beat up, along with that horrid field and weather, Stadium news breaking out on the eve of the game, and Reid with a bye week to game plan us just doomed us!!Without a run game we are much to one dimensional. KC was well prepared and Charles looked every bit the best YPC running back in NFL history.
cd, i refuse to enter that game day thread, it's a dead thread to me..
If you want me to reply, bring it in here..
Well course we cause some silly flags as well cd.. Some of those flags are legit that the RAIDERS make.. But most of those calls are just plain bad cd, and the non calls are even worse.. Heck they don't only hold, but tackle some of our players right in front of the refs.. JDR sends the film after every game to the league for crying out loud..Ok easy enough. When I made the comment the Raiders got a nice call to go their way or lack of a call I guess. Even the announcers said something about how they got away with one. So can't sit here and say that every call goes against your team. As for the Raiders I have watched all but one of their games this year. I haven't seen this crazy notion that the officials are out to get the Raiders. What I see is a team that lacks discipline at times and gets caught out of position quite often especially on defense. When players are out of position or not communicating well it leads to more flags than usual for teams. This is why bringing in so many new faces to start on especially one side of the ball does not usually work out well for teams. Takes time to build the type of chemistry needed to actually play at the speed you want those players to play.

Im pretty sure you watch some RAIDER games, but you see those games as a Bronco fan and not just a fan of football.. So you will only see what you want to see..
How many flags did you guys have against the Bolts?? 12 or so?? Did you agree with ALL of them?? And don't tell me you did cd, cause im pretty sure you didn't agree with all the calls..
Really, you write articles eh??Every coach sends the film to the league. The Broncos have the best pass rush in the entire NFL yet get some of the fewest holding calls in the NFL. Those 2 things don't add up but it just happens. Bad calls happen every game to every team. There is no big conspiracy to keep the Raiders down. They have just been a bad team for a very long time and when you especially change rosters/coaches/FO people all the time it leads to a lot of confusion on the field and a lot of undisciplined play.
And no I don't just watch the games as a Bronco fan. I actually write articles on football. Yes maybe I have a bit of bias but I have worked hard to train my eyes to actually watch the games to be able to break them down. I told you a while ago (right after FA) that some of the moves you guys made made no sense. You told me I was just a Bronco homer and had no idea what I was looking at. Well everything I told you has come to be.
And no I didn't agree with all the calls. Happens every game. I also understand that me as a fan have the benefit of instant replay where I can see things the officials most likely can't. Yes it gets frustrating at times but I also have a lot of friends who are officials and have talked greatly with them of the difficulty of being an official. Heck my grandpa was an official for 30 years. He is who taught me about football. So I got the benefit of learning the game from the officials view point. Bad calls happen. Good teams overcome them and find ways to win. They also realize they are the benefit of some good calls as well and take advantage of those. Like I said there was one that was huge in the Chiefs game when the game was still close that would have given the Chiefs 1st down in scoring position. Officials missed it and the Chiefs punted. It happens but the Raiders didn't take advantage of their good fortune and the Chiefs then just cruised from there. Doesn't mean the Chiefs didn't get a few calls to go there way too but it is just part of the game. It is the human element.
Really, you write articles eh??
Anyways, im not saying it's a conspiracy but a rigged game cd.. Some of those calls and non calls are just plain BAD, and i mean to the point of cheating bad!! Now i understand that calls will be missed here and there, we only human after all.. But when it's out in the open for all to see, and when broken down in slow motion it's even worse!! We have new players, coaches, Owner, etc and there still being thrown at an alarming rate, that's tells us it's rigged!! It is what it is.. Now you being the Bronco fan will not see it that way, but in fact love it, again it is what it is..
I seen that Bolt v Bronco game and you guys got jobbed by the refs.. You see i can say that, and you can't.. Cuz i watch the game with an open mind.. Now you better get used to games being called like that, as you guys are getting the rep of a dirty team.. The league will clean up that style of play, watch.. I ain't the one calling you guys that.. But the word is out.. Welcome to the world of the Ref!!
Ad cd?? Those new FA we got are indeed working.. Our problem is the injury's and having to start ALL our rookies at key spots on the team.. When you add that to the new FAs we see what we are seeing now..
cd, i have a few things i have to do this good morning.. I will reply to this post.. You just know i will..Every team has injuries. I'm sorry but that is a terrible excuse. If your team doesn't have the depth to cover up for some players missing then that is a FO issue. And I wouldn't say it has been key players at all. Key players to me are top-5 type players on the team and right now all those guys are still going. You are talking about middle of the pack starters that should be replaceable and players your team is trying to update.
It's not an excuse just a simple fact is all.. Every team has injury's and those injury's effect teams in different ways.. You can't just lump all teams in one group.. Again, it's not an excuse, just a simple little fact on why our team has performed the way it has.. All teams need chemistry and it's hard to get that when we keep rotating players in and out of the line up.. Now does our team have issues?? You bet they do, just like your team does..Every team has injuries. I'm sorry but that is a terrible excuse. And again cd, you can't lump all teams in the same class as far as KEY players go.. Teams see players different than other teams do.. For example?? If our long snapper the GREAT Condo were to get hurt, that would be a KEY player to us!! Im pretty sure you don't see it that way though?! Again, all teams see key players different than other teams.. That's just the plain truth dude..
cd, a few years ago we lost Condo for the game against the Bolts, and his backup lost us that game.. That game will forever be known as the Condo bowl to RAIDER fans.. So he was a key player..I wouldn't see a long-snapper as a key player considering teams change long-snappers all the time. I'm not saying he isn't a good long-snapper but that is a position that if need be you could call a guy off the street and he could be ready in a couple of days to perform. So no I don't see it that way.
The players I give exceptions to are the QB, star CB's, star pass rushers. IF you guys lost Carr or Mack then we would have something to talk about (although Mack hasn't exactly lit the league on fire like many thought this year). Same with the Broncos in losing Von Miller. I know that would change the entire defense with him gone. You are talking about a RT and RB though from what I can tell. While they are both good players I wouldn't say they aren't irreplaceable either. A team should be able to overcome those type of injuries. To me the Chiefs missing Justin Houston is easily equal to those 2 players being out if not more as he is a game changing player that is a top-10 defensive player in the league when healthy. When you add they have had OL players hurt most of the season I just can't see injuries being the big difference of why the Raiders are struggling. Throw in the defense has been struggling all year with or without injuries. That unit cannot be blamed on injuries at all for how they are playing. With that talent they should not be maybe a bottom-3 defense in the league right now.
cd, a few years ago we lost Condo for the game against the Bolts, and his backup lost us that game.. That game will forever be known as the Condo bowl to RAIDER fans.. So he was a key player..
And of course players like Carr, Mack, Coop, etc are the KEY KEY players to our team, but that don't mean some other guys can't be key players as well.. Again, it all depends how you see key players..
And MEJ the rising young STAR key player to our D, a player we were counting on big time goes down, that hurt!! But the good news he practicing and will join the team soon..
And let's not forget our starting beast blocking TE Lee Smith, our Starting Mike Heeney, Allen, etc..
These are players that you don't see as key players, cuz they ain't the QB or the best D player on the team.. But ask JDR if they are important.. Again, the point here is, it's not an excuse, just a simple little fact..
There's always a reason why a unit is not living up to expectations, and those are a few reasons why..
The bottom line, you roll with what you have and correct the issues as the season moves along.. That's the coaches job!!
cd, i disagree with everything you just said.. You can't just go and pick up some dude off the street and expect them to perform as good as pro bowl long snapper, get real dude.. Now if said player was a real good player and got cut cuz of injury or money, that's a different story.. But for the most part teams KEEP good players..Few things:
1) Yes losing Condo during the game was a big hit. I'm talking about being able to replace a player with a comparable back up though. Condo is a guy that you can find his replacement on the street tomorrow if he went down on Sunday and you might not even notice that he is gone. Carr you are not going to go find a guy off the street or on your roster that can replace what he does on the field. Same with Mack. That is the difference between those type of players.
2) Those key players you are talking about on defense when they were healthy the team was still struggling on defense. So can't sit here and say the team really missed them when they played exactly the same with and without them.
3) The best teams even with injuries though have depth players that can step in and do a decent job. So if you are saying there is that big of a drop off after losing those players then that just shows the Raiders don't have good depth which hey was something I said during the off season as well and said it would come back to bite them. Somebody called me a homer then and said I had no clue on the Raiders team. Seems like so far many of the things I said about the Raiders before this season started have been exactly what I said they would be. Never said the Raiders would be a terrible team just saw them more as an 8-8 type team that if they could sneak out a couple of close wins could maybe get up to that 9-10 win area. I'm sticking with that prediction. They snuck out a few close wins to start the season which should help in the end but I'm just having trouble seeing them fix that defense any time soon.
4) Most starters are important. Our difference is though we have different standards of just how important a player is to the team. You have this thought that every player on the Raiders is important so any injury is a key injury. I've seen you talk in the past about back ups and them being out is a huge blow to the team. There has to be a line in my opinion of who we consider to be key players. Such as a blocking TE...come on Idaho. While they might be missed a bit those are players you can find on the FA market right now that could step into practice and do a decent job.
