I drafted him in the third round thinking he was going to be a stat-stuffer on a lousy team.

Don't get me wrong - He's still padding stats, but he's also but a crucial factor in Detroit's hot start. He's proving me wrong about the money these players are making in the new TV deal.

I think Monroe held back Drummond's game a little bit. Adding a couple stretch 4's next to Drummound was the smartest thing they could've done this offseason.

SVG should get a ton of credit if this team wins over 1/2 of its games and makes the playoffs. This is what he wanted to happen when they "overpayed" for Jackson, showed J-Smoove the door ... and let Monroe go.

I am happily surprised. I thought letting Monroe go was a mistake and didn't expect anything near what Morris is putting up from him. I only thought this team would have any success if Stanley Johnson produced right away. So far they are easing him into the NBA and getting more than I thought this team possibly could. So far, so good--big credit to SVG. Hopefully, they keep it going.

Yeah he is a beast. I remember those 3 home runs he hit against my Dodgers in Game 6 of the '77 world series. Not sure why we have a thread about him on the NBA boards though.
