Did I miss a roster move?

Word was that Blanks was supposed to be activated last weekend ... but he wasn't. Here's what I think is going on. As long as Martin is hot ... he's going to play which means DeShields will be in LF.

Smolinski could be optioned back to AAA and Blanks activated ... except when a roster spot is needed for Hamilton the only way to make room for him would be to DFA Blanks and TEX doesn't want to lose him.

So Blanks travels with the team as an insurance policy while they are on the road. Fact that he's not been sent out on a rehab assignment means they really just want him as a bench bat. If they don't send him out for a rehab ... they aren't forced to activate him within 2 weeks of the rehab beginning.

I can. Tons of strikeouts and an excessive reliance on homers for offense is not a sustainable offense.
