Not a fan of DDJ in lead off just coming up. Would like to see Elvis give the lead off a chance again.

Understand your concern, but he did go 1-4 and came real close to beating out another one.

For me, Elvis has been producing so well I don't want to tamper with him.

Gotta remember no one did very well on offense so DDJ gets a pass on this one and agree completely on Elvis. Ain't broke don't fix it.

DDJ earned his demotion, that's for sure. But he seems like he earned his way back, albeit with some injury help.

Don't know if you saw his interview before yesterdays game, but he talked about how being sent down really got inside his head at first, but then he just decided to accept it, learn from it, and do what he could do to get back. Seemed like a pretty open and self-effacing way to look at things.

After all, we need some help right now and frankly, I don't give a damn who gives it too us, so I'm keeping an open mind on him for the immediate future.

Not like he had much of a choice. He was terrible and deserved it. Having too much pride to not admit that you suck never made sense to me.

The #Rangers might be making a big pitch for Chris Sale, but would Joey Gallo (Russell Branyan or Chris Davis 2.0?) & Profar get it done?

  • rumorcentral_16x9_203x114.pngDavid Schoenfield's take: No surprise theTexas Rangers are seeking pitching -- they're actually starting Kyle Lohse these days. They're 4-15 in their past 19 games with just three quality starts in that span. Would Jurickson Profar and Joey Gallo be enough to get Chris Sale (who, by the way, has a 4.87 ERA over his past 10 starts)? Seems like a good challenge trade for both clubs. Gallo still has Chris Davis-like upside, but he could also be more Mark Reynolds than future All-Star. But the White Soxare mired in mediocrity. They're not winning with Sale; maybe it's time to re-tool and get more depth.

Don't need the local media driving Yu to free agency, do we? I've heard it before and I'm sure Yu is kinda sinsetive to it. Kinda flavers this Sale trade talk.

I tend to agree with what Morris says a lot, and he seems to think there has been an unusual amount of criticism against Yu.

I'm not sure what Rhyner saw yesterday that made him make such a statement, but I do wonder this. Why did so many people here in the DFW area, not posters here necessarily, love/worship Nolan for striking out people and complain about Darvish doing same?

We went all-in to sign him and the reason we wanted him, at least a primary reason, was his ability to K guys. Me/you/us bitch, justifiable IMO, about guys like Perez who can't strikeout hardly anyone. What's the Yu rub?

And FWIW, Darvish's K to W ratio is damn near twice as good as Ryan's. Granted, much smaller sample size.

From TR Sullivan:

Jon Heyman is right that White Sox want 5 prime prospects for Chris Sale....Nomar Mazara is on their wish list here

The difference in Darvish and Ryan to me would be that Nolan could strike a lot of guys out and still go very deep into games. That is not a slight towards Yu. Nolan was a very special physical specimen and he was from a different era.

If Nolan Ryan pitched in this era he'd be removed from games quicker.
