Thing is he pitches consistently at 97, effortlessly.....I agree that humping up pitch after pitch trying to set a speed record is problematic.....he can still occasionally reach back for 100+ when he really needs it......he's not just throwing strikes now, they're low strikes, and he's one of two guys in baseball who can consistently pitch at 97-98 (the other being Justin Verlander, arguably the best in the game). Plus when he throws the slider and splitter for strikes, that only makes the heater more awesome. They stretched him out all spring to start, and they need to put him into the rotation to stay...every start Bailey makes is another wasted opportunity to start Chappy......
