i believe they said on CFB live that "conference champs would be looked favorably on" but not guaranteed anything.

i say let the computers determine the 4 teams (should be 8 teams, but 4 is a step in the right direction), too much room for bias with a human selection committee (just as there is now with the human polls)

which we should probably read as 'SEC 1, SEC 2, Big12 champ, and then who ever looks best between the Pac12, and B1G champs'

the problem with the computers is there are some that the formulas arent public and are often faulty. They did a study where they found out some of the computers were using broken formulas and given wrong results.

Let me guess, instead of the formulas applying the correct Beta factor, the formulas were applying an inflated Bama factor?!?!?

so make them public and fix the formulas...things are getting changed up here, so we can change the forumlas to make them correct while we're at it

If forty six is right, then that empty case will stay that way forever. Winning a national title was a cool idea though while it lasted.

To make in it from the current ACC VT(or anyone else) would have to go undefeated and blow everyone out to even have a chance. That is unless Clemson, FSU, and 1 or 2 more are 10-win teams that also have some big OOC wins among them and then maybe a 1 loss ACC champ could do it.

Most time you have to go undefeated to make it in the MNC game anyway. We were ranked as high as #5 last year without beating anyone. If we win and win convincingly enough, it won't matter what conference we're in. FSU was a top 5 team for a decade in a much worse ACC.

If an ACC champ is 12-1 or undefeated, it will be hard to not include them in the top four. Especially if Clemson, FSU, and another team step up and win 9+ games.

dont worry ballboy you wont have to worry about it

that might have been the case before the ACC won like only 2 bcs games ever

After what our coach and chairman of the BOT said, it would take a hell of a coup to get us out... and last time I checked, the Big XII wasn't the SEC. Not a whole lot of incentive to jump ship at this point; we have a much easier road to staying undefeated and winning the conference where we are. If we move to the Big XII and have to face Texas and OU every year (or every other), would it really be to our advantage?

Only one team has qualified in the last decade from the ACC. VT in 07. You guys cool with maybe one chance from our conference every ten years? And the sec will get 2 in each year most likely. Then you think for example... USC, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma State with an equal record as us will be set aside for an ACC team? No way.

Which of those other years did an ACC team deserve to be in over whoever the top 4 were?

Thanks. Come again.

We need to win more games, plain and simple.

you and fsu are in,dont listen to the misdirection and the the reason to leave is because the acc is perceived as weak and you might not get into the play-offs unless the sec,pac and BIG's have a down year with a weak champ
