Damn didn't want to see the rams grab Henderson.
I'm good with the Sanders pick, but scratching my head on pick 57? I was disappointed that AJ Brown was picked 2 spots before us at 51. Unreal!

I would have taken Montgomery over Sanders. We will see how that turns out.

I wonder if the iggles were interested in Hardeman. He's got desean like speed. Chiefs jumped up in front of us to grab him probably with hill's situation in mind.

So now we add some defense?

Some safeties still around, but no need to force it since we added a 3rd safety in FA.

I'd like to add a young DT since Jernigan is unreliable. My guy today is Armon Watts. Late bloomer with raw ability.

There are some pass rushing specialists that would be nice to add like Christian Miller or Justin Hollins. The depth for us at DE has bodies, but it's old depth if Sweat doesn't develop. Also Anthony Nelson from Iowa and Joe Jackson from Miami. We could have options there.

Damn, we actually traded the higher 4th. Our pick is the last in the round.

Damn. No 3rd round pick and safety From Florida still on board. Wish we could make a trade to grab him.

Never put anything past Howie!

Here's hoping Howie can work a trade to get Chauncey!! He's a perfect fit for us.
Also, Mack Wilson, MLB, Alabama, is still there.

Do something Howie!!!!!!!!!

Still plenty of defensive talent on the board ... if they want to go secondary, Chauncey Gardner Johnson i still there as Amani Oruwariye and Dionte Thompson. There's also good value on the board at LB ... I love Blake Cashman; others also available are Vosean Joseph, Ben Burr-Kirven and Mack Wilson. Two of my sleepers at Defensive End are still there ... love Jordan Brailford from Oklahoma State as well as Maxx Crosby from Eastern Michigan. Other DLinemen also still available are Charles Omenihu, Gerald Willis DT from Miami and Isaiah Buggs DT from Bama. The big question today may be ... do we trade Nelson Agholor for a pick or do we just keep him to have as many options available for Wentz?

Well maybe with the news coming out of Seattle last night about Baldwin the Eagles can move on from Nelson and Hawks could give up a 4th....

All in all Im actually pretty pleased with what they got last night.
Sure I was hoping they would take one of the 2nd and get extra picks, but they stuck to their board and took what they wanted....

Oh and being a Pac12 Homer, JJ will be a great wide out for this team. Underrated for the simple fact Stanford didn't have a QB smart enough or talented enough to get him the ball....

Lol. Stanford and not smart enough don't fit, especially a QB from Stanford.

I have to say it is a really nice thing to have a GM and scouting dept that has credibility.

The draft gets talked about to death. And everyone has found their guys to fall in love with over the last few months. And I don’t believe many peoples “loves“ went to us in the first three rounds.

This fan base....with a GM that doesn’t have credibility....would be melting down right now.

I’m not a draft-nik. It’s far more exciting this time of year to think about baseball than shuttle times and vertical jump heights. But I have followed enough here to know the consensus loves. And I don’t see them on the Eagles today. But yet the board isn’t melting.

Way way back, on an old board, we used to say “In Andy we Trust”. IAWT was as much sarcastic as honest (maybe more, especially in the later Andy years). But it sure has felt for a while now like we can say “In Howie we Trust” and see how it goes. Credibility is very much there....at least until it is not.

I didn’t expect these names....but I like what they did for our offense (on paper) and will be interested to see how it plays out.

I do feel like the current Eagles organization is the most competent in terms of drafting and personnel that I have seen in my lifetime in Philly. Some of these moves, you can clearly see they are drafting with a look two or three chess moves ahead of most teams. They drafted a LT, RB and WR who all will likely play bigger roles in years 2+ than this year. Dillard will eventually replace Peters, Saunders will eventually be the bell cow back, and Arcega-Whiteside will replace Jeffery--but not right away. The Eagles are looking down the road at cap and age issues and getting the future players lined up now. That's what the good teams do.

I am actually shocked at some of the safety talent still on the board. I doubt they make it to us though. Hopefully we can trade Agholor or Big V and get an extra pick in the round or move up.

There is a ton of good talent still there. However its going to be a painful 37 picks to watch. I wonder if a team would take a 3rd from us next year to trade up.

Howie was pretty clear that Agholor isn't going anywhere. I do think the only trade they make with him now is for a defensive player in a similar position as his.

I'm very happy with this draft so far ... Dillard was my 2nd OLineman on my board behind Bradbury, so I'm very happy we landed him at 22. Sanders was my #2 RB "slightly" behind Jacobs, so I'm perfectly content landing him in Rd 2. Arcega-Whiteside was 4th on my board behind Marquise Brown, AJ Brown and Hakeem Butler (not sure how he's still available) ... so I'm very happy to have him.

I keep hearing people say that we should have taken Metcalf or Campbell over him, but I think the Eagles absolutely picked the right receiver. Metcalf takes great muscle pics and runs a great 40, but he has zero footwork and has less agility that Tom Brady. He's not going to be able to burn pro DB's down the sideline as easily as he did in college. He doesn't get in and out of routes sharply at all and you need something other than what he showcased in college to be a successful NFL receiver. That's why he dropped to where he dropped on day 2. Campbell is a gadget receiver at OSU ... while the potential is there, he wasn't asked to do much other than catch bubble screens and drag routes 10 yards from the LOS. Terry McLauren was their downfield guy. So while he has burner speed, he's not anywhere near a plug and play receiver. Whiteside on the other hand has pro skill footwork already and knows how set up defenders to get open. He understands how to play receiver much more than Metcalf or Campbell ... his skill level when fighting for the ball is elite! In the pros footwork and jab steps are essential in getting open and this kid has the total package in that regard and his 4.47 Pro Day time showed that he has some giddyup as well. I don't think Stanford took advantage of his downfield ability, but I think the Eagles see it and will take advantage of his entire skill set.

The scouts must know or have seen something that I haven’t, but I’m shocked to see Gardner there. Any off field concerns on this guy? I must’ve fell in love with his versatility and highlights. Wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened lol.

I like the Arcega-Whiteside pick a lot, I think he looks like a younger, smarter Alshon. A "basketball player" type receiver with great hands and box out skills.

Not sure about Sanders.

On Butler, I wonder if there is some off the field issue causing him to drop this much. But...he did have a lot of drops in college, like Metcalf, and maybe some people have questions about his hands.

The one thing the Eagles value a ton is the type of person their players are. We only get to see what these players are like on the field but maybe guys like CGJ, Hakeem Butler etc. are on the board because they didn't test well off the field. That is a determining factor.

Honestly the player I can't understand is still on the Board is Mack Wilson. Not a great LB draft so I wonder if teams are overthinking it with him. He would be an absolute stud in this defense.

I also like Owonlyi from Penn State, he should have been gone by now to.

because no one here is. hell, the people paid to do this professionally don't have a general idea who's going to pan out. why melt down over the unknown?
