Classic Miley... Just throw meatballs no matter the count, 3-0 meatball, 0-2 meat fucking ball. Half the time when Miley is on the hill we will need huge offensive games.
Mr. Miley? The new team heads want to have a word with you...

Living dangerously having Cruz in the OF late in games

It's a tough call to make when it's a close game like that and you know that Cruz is scheduled to hit in the next half inning. You obviously don't want him booting the ball and giving Tampa a chance to tie the game up right there, but should Tampa have found a way of tying it up without needing a Cruz misplay/error to do it, you're suddenly without the guy in your lineup, of the guys due up in the next two innings, most capable of breaking a tie with one good swing. If you're up big in that situation, you feel more comfortable with replacing him defensively because you would presumably not need his bat in the next inning. If you're not up big in that situation, but Cruz isn't scheduled to hit for another 6-8 hitters, you can take him out defensively and not worry about taking your biggest home run threat out of the lineup in a close game because chances are good that if you're getting to his spot in the order in the next inning or two, you're probably back in the lead again anyway. I dunno. Stuff like that is why Servais gets paid the big bucks to manage the team and we don't.

They ended up taking him out after the AB in 8th which was great. I just remember it nearly costing them a game a few weeks ago. Would just prefer he DHs as much as possible. I do realize Smith and Guti aren't Amazing fielders earlier. Would be nice to have an OF defense/ pinch runner for those situations.

I was thinking about that too, one of the downsides to having a platooned 1st base. Guy like O'Malley comes to mind.

Just looked at the matchups. Against Archer Cano is 0-13, Seager is 0-13.

As a roster their combined numbers are - .224/.264/.329/.593 in 91 PA (4 players have never faced him). Cruz has some success (5/15 1 2B) as does Lind (7/20 3 2B) but that's about all.

Adam Lind hits .350 off of Archer. I'm gonna guess that number takes a hit today.
