Series Thread: Rays vs M's - May 9th - 11th

This year feels different. We were 1-5 on our first homestand and then completely turned it around. Felix came in off of an awful start and put up a quality outing. I don't want to jinx this team but this has the feel of a great year. Even Seager's infamous spring slump ended early.

17-7 since April 13th. And that is without two of their top relievers available. Most games their starting pitching is going to give them a chance to win through the first six innings. It's how well they pitch in the last three innings that will determine if this is a 90-win team or a 75-win team. Can't get Benoit, Zych and Furbush back soon enough.

I have been a fan of his for about 3 years now, but always heard professionals kind of bash him during his spring trainings and never understood it. I am so happy for him and I hope he has a long, successful Mariners career.

I am really happy for him too!!! I was critical of certain aspects of his game when he was in the minors, glad he has become what he has. The kid has really grown as a player and used his athletic ability to become a special player. Very very impressed with what he has been able to do this season and last. He is super young and has tons of baseball ability, should only get better.

Early in Safeco, there was a few players, Buhner and Boone, that when watching TV they connected on an outside pitch, and BOOM, it was gone.

Lee is in the same mold. That ball was blasted and I knew it was gone, just like the Buhner and Boone blasts of early 2000's.
