I watched the first half at the Legion with my GF so not as closely as I would normally watch it. 2nd half at home.

First thought these are backups or guys who won't be on a team in a week, important to remember.

Sam Howell looked good, has the arm, can run the ball fairly well, can go off schedule. I remember watching him at NC a couple of times. He is tough. That was my number 1 thought watching him in college.

Dyami Brown might have dropped the easiest TD catch in the history of man. I like Dax and Cam better.

The 2nd half OL was terrible. Howell was running for his life on most plays. I think the TD drive might have been 150 yards considering all the penalties and sacks they overcame. The good news .... none of them will be there next week.

Run D was good against a normally good rushing team.

D as a whole played well except for three plays.

Synopsis .... Howell as going to make the team, if Dax was in question he shouldn't be now. Most everyone else will be gone in a week. We watched a guy for two guys mostly. Just a guess but if Howell does have it, then it will be year 3 before we see it other than preseason.

Bottom line is we need backup cb's and Lb's. Reeves should make this team. Dax will make it. Erickson will make it. We will keep 7 Wr's

Howell just showed this team last night that there is no need to resign TH even if Wentz fails this year.

If I was Rivera, I would look long and hard at the following positions for upgrades after cuts are made:
1. LB
2. CB
3. OLine depth
4. DLine depth
5. WR

We are not a good team and should have addressed some of these gaps in free agency. In reality, Rivera seems content at LB. I can see 1 or 2 moves, but we will probably stay put. The likelihood of picking up a WR who is significantly more talented than Sims, Milne, and Erickson is fairly low at this point. If we pick up anybody, they need to be a quick learner and more talented than what we currently have. The highest probability of that would be LB and CB. Hopefully, any players brought in are not done so simply because they have Panther connections. We have one of the least talented rosters in the NFL.

i liked what i saw of howell , JP and milne . . truth be told i think milne jumped brown on the depth chart

erickson has shown he can make plays in the offense , he gets open and catches the ball , and he did better on returns today . he might have made it

i see brown being inactive most of the year
