Been fighting em'off boys but they're coming over the walls. This is likely the last stand. I fought a good fight.

Good night for Leonys. I hope Ogando and Scheppers can come back and be valuable next year. Otherwise, this bullpen will need a complete overhaul too. Klein should be called up. It doesn't matter who comes out of the pen right now. It seems every single one of them gives up runs every time they come in. Feliz, Tolleson, and Poreda did tonight. Can we please get a lefty specialist next year.

Normally when a season goes this horribly wrong and the losing never stops, something good comes from it. Maybe a really bad manager finally gets fired. Maybe the top young players get valuable experience. Maybe the team gets a definite idea what needs fixing.

But this season is just a total dumpster fire. Our manager won't be fired over this mess because it isn't his fault. Our top 2 young players are out for the year and our other top guys are too far down and not ready for promotion. It's basically Odor and a bunch of spares who will likely be career minor leaguers playing now. And how do you judge what this team really needs other than a couple of starting pitchers? The whole team has been hurt. Will Fielder rebound? Will Holland and Perez come back strong? Is Profar the long-term answer everyone thought? What will become of Scheppers, Ross, Feliz, and Ogando?

How on earth is Jon Daniels supposed to judge what this team needs this offseason? Does he assume the worst and begin a massive rebuild? Or does he give it one more try with the current team being healthy? Hold onto the likes of Rios and Soria and hope for a better 2015, or trade anyone/everyone?

What a complete waste of a season. Chirinos proved himself as a usable catcher and we might get the 1st overall pick. I can't think of any other positives.

I've gone back and forth on it, but I think I would look at trading Rios again.

I read that the Rockies might make Tulo and/or CarGo available. I would take either one of them. It sure would be nice to have CarGo as our starting RF next year.

So how much would it take to get Tulo and CarGo? :laugh3:

A lot more than we have unless some MI's will get it done, that's if you say Chi Chi, Lujack, Gallo and Rua are not available. Not much pitching depth in the system anymore, at least not that will get much done at this stage

I take it back Nightcrawler, we could conceivably lose 100 games.

Question is if we drafted first would we screw that up, and I have to say I'm not certain we wouldn't?

This has the strange feeling of absolutely inconceivable, and at the same time, how did we not know this was exactly what was coming.
We have no rotation, you could pretty much just leave it there. We also lost the guy who was finally going to get us some runs, and you could really end it right there. It's hard to judge what players are doing and why, because they know what they're looking at and there isn't anyway it doesn't effect them. Except for the Rooks.

I doubt he screws it up, but who knows. Baseball drafts can be such a crapshoot...some kid looks great and then sucks.
There's probably data out there on it.
