The problem with your statement is that, this year Profar was going to be a every day player. And last year playing LF, 3B, SS and 2B, he was playing 4 to 5 days out of the week. So he was not really a backup.

We do know that based on the Houston leak that they inquired about Mitch and JD said he was off the table. I find that ridiculous. We covet Mitch? Absurd.

Being away from my teammates and the game is tough. I can't do much for the next couple months [following neck surgery for a herniated disk] besides light physical therapy. It's weird.

I just didn't understand what was going on. When I made contact [with the ball], my left arm would give way and I would roll over on the ball, rather than being able to use my power to lift the ball. But after I received a [nerve-root] injection and the strength still didn't come back, [I knew I'd have to have surgery]. I wasn't going to help my team playing like that.

I can't do much of anything right now. I have to let the process of healing take place. I just started doing physical therapy a few times a week, but a lot of that is in my hip right now where they shaved some of the bone to use in my neck. I have the feeling back [in my neck and left arm] and I'm pain-free, so I look forward to a full recovery and getting back out there next year, doing what I do and helping the Rangers win.

Sure pics and interview were months ago. Wondered what's the latest on him, and Moreland for that matter.

Have to share a story from playing high school level baseball years ago with guys from the San Antonio area. We were practicing and one of our pitchers was built like Babe Ruth. Great pitcher and could hit the ball a mile. One of my best friends was taking batting practice against him and the pitcher was just throwing the ball nice and easy. Well my friend lined the ball right back off of his forehead and he fell to the ground. We ran over there and helped him up and asked if he was okay. He said yes but every time we let go of him he would start to wobble down to the ground. After a few minutes he was okay but he had the imprint of a baseball in his forehead. We all laughed about it after a while but man that guy had a hard head.

That's about all he did. Really wasn't his fault. He was glad to get the money if JD wanted to hand it to him.

Holland playing his Dumb and Dumber part:

On Tuesday, RHP Yu Darvish was hit in the head by a line drive while throwing in the outfield. Darvish was doing some flat ground work when Leonys Martin hit a ball in batting practice that tipped off Derek Holland’s glove and glanced off Darvish’s head.

After kneeling for a moment, Darvish returned to throwing. He refused on-field medical assistance.

“I just missed it,” an upset Holland said after the incident.

On Twitter, Darvish retweeted the Morning News’ report with the additional statement: “I’m fine.”

Darvish is expected to be seen by team medical director Dr. Keith Meister around 6 p.m., but there was no indication that the incident was anything more than an unfortunate misplay in the outfield. He is expected to make his scheduled start on Wednesday.

I've kinda grown tired of Galloway myself. I'm just not sure how being a "Nolan Guy" means this is made up. I'm all for giving Nolan his dues as more than a figure head to the greatness of JD. I think for JD to be considered all that in baseball circles, he'll have to do better than year one without Nolan. I think JD misjudged the Cruz value cause his eye was on Choo from the start. I think he rolled the dice with Harrison, Lewis and a second year pitcher in Perez with little to no contingency plan. Holland goes down and the starting pitching went with it.

Don't get me wrong....JD's decisions aren't the only reason this team became bottom 10 in 3 short months. It's been a group effort from the players to the coaches. Nobody saw prince going down. Nobody expected the injuries. I don't see anyone other than beltre is playing to expectation and he's had defensive lapse's and long period of time with little power. Group effort AND JD sits as front and center as anyone to me.
