That game on Monday is going to mean something. You can't throw Perez out there again. Oswalt can't start. So yes, in one of the biggest must-win games of the season, we'll have to go with Scott Feldman. That is truly bad news for every Ranger fan on the planet.

You realize if Beltre wasn't being Beltre on Monday night, the Rangers are staring at a 4 game sweep tomorrow, at home, with the division on the line, against the very team chasing them. Anyone think this team is poised for a deep October run?

If Cruz does not step it up we may not be. Hopefully with the team's experience we can rev up come playoff time

Thats what I thought as well. I do like Perez for our future as a starter, but monday night may be too much of him to ask in that situation.

Well Angels and CJ up on King Felix 2-0. This is the game we needed the Mariners to win.

I know we'll still make the playoffs, but I guess what has me so frustrated is that these last 2 games have felt like complete forfeits without a care on the Rangers part. I know that's not entirely true, but it's hard not to feel that way when we've seen embarrassing performances from some of our veterans like Hamilton, Cruz, and Holland and a string of appearances by pitchers like Lowe, Scheppers, Perez, Font, Tateyama, and Grimm who had no business ever pitching in important September games.

I realize that injuries and a poor start by Holland led to those pitchers having to take the mound, but it just felt as though the Rangers let their circumstances dictate that they just throw these last two games away.

I wish JD had acquired us another legitimate veteran bullpen arm at either of the trade deadlines instead of just calling up 3 or 4 guys who are clearly not major league ready yet. I wish Wash had been a bit more selective with the use of his bullpen. I realize that his hands were tied a bit so this isn't really a shot at him. I just wish he could have used the veterans like Ogando, Oswalt, Uehara, Adams, Nathan, and the reliable rookie Ross maybe an inning more each. I know that's probably not a reasonable wish, but that's just the taste that's been left in my mouth. It just feels like we've trotted out a bunch of minor leaguers with a "hope for the best" attitude while our opponent hasn't used anyone remotely as unprepared or incapable.

Lastly, I've just gotten the impression that some of the players aren't playing with the same urgency or intensity as their opponents in Oakland and even in Seattle. I know that too is most likely an unfair and incorrect judgment. It's just the impression that they have given me and I know a lot of other fans too with their recent play. A lot of mental errors, at-bats just carelessly given away (ahem... Hamilton), countless runners left in scoring position, laughing after striking out (ahem... Hamilton), and at times a seeming lack of focus by certain players. Overall, including all aspects of the game, it's just been nowhere near the quality of baseball this team is capable of producing, and I think that Nolan, Wash, and the team leaders would all agree with that.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just frustrated as a fan, and I think my frustration is coming not from them losing the games but the manner in which they're doing so.

Hopefully tomorrow they flip the switch and start playing playoff caliber baseball.

And is Martin Perez really our best prospect starting pitcher? Because if he is, well, that's really unfortunate.

Jesus Christ, shut up... He's a 21 year old kid pitching in a pennant race for the first time, you are really just an annoying person with your constant doom and gloom and you're almost never right about anything

Today is huge and we will find out what sense of urgency they have. Just want to say that Cruz needs to step it up big time. He has been horrible with RISP lately. Hopefully Josh is not bored today and decides to bring his focus. Got a good feeling there will be a meeting before todays game.
