Yes, both have had a stinker since getting on track. Will be interesting to see how they respond.

which is what i was trying to say. both have had a stinker in their last start. if Darvish starts game 1, then Harrison would start game 2 and knowing that Wash would probably split his lefties that means Dempster in game 3 and Holland in game 4.

i meant in their last start.

Not a good idea to base your opinion of where they should line up in the playoff rotation based on one start. Hell, if that were the case Verlander would be Detroits #3 starter having pitched a couple of stinkers lately. Hell, Harry and Darvish looked bad for a little bit too.

Yeah, but I'm just not sure how much I trust dempster.

I'd have to think Holland's problem this year has been the same problem his whole career, lack of focus pitch in and pitch out, He'll get a guy where he wants him and then throws him a fat meatball in the middle of the plate, most of the rest of the time Holland has been pretty dang good

30+ HRs is inexcusable for a guy with his stuff, Lewis I can see b/c he doesn't have the fastball to makeup for a mistake pitch in the zone

I agree. I have to think that might get better with maturity though.

i understand what you're saying. based on who starts game 1 is what the starting rotation should be based on and i was thinking scenario 1 below when i posted that.

if Darvish starts game 1 then i would start Harrison, then Dempster and then Holland (splitting the 2 lefties like Wash will probably do).

if Harrison starts game 1 then the order would be Darvish, Holland & then Dempster.

It would seem in watching good young pitchers that control and stuff bred maturity not the opposite.

Bleacher Report today showed the post season rotation as ... Harrison -- Darvish -- Holland -- Dempster

When Sun 7 Oct rolls around ... Holland will have not pitched in 8 days, Darvish 7 days, and Harrison 5 days.

I would prefer to see the rotation as being Darvish -- Harrison -- Holland -- Dempster. Wash has said he wants to split the lefties so already I am wrong ... but I'm not sure why that is a factor since the #2 and #3 guy will always have a day between appearances ... in a different ball park.

Darvish is the guy I want to see get the most starts in the post season on normal rest. That's why I have him leading off.

On a totally different track ...

Park run factor could play too ... OAK is #21 with a 0.882 while RBIA is #5 w/1.176 and BAL is #6 w/1.160. Park factor is a push if TEX faces BAL in the ALDS ... but wouldn't TEX rather have Holland (30HR) pitching in OAK? Perfect alignment for the ALDS @ OAK might be Holland and Dempster with Harrison and Darvish going in games 3 and 4 at RBIA.

Holland (30HR), Harrison (19HR), Dempster (17 overall), Darvish (13).

Darvish.. Harrison... Dempster... Holland is the way i go. The DArvish has been pitching you have to go with him and i think hes got the best stuff on the staff by far.

UPDATE: Darvish scratched due to neck stiffness. Feldman gets the nod in Yu's place. Washington on Darvish: "It's not serious, just a stiff neck. He's day-to-day and we'll see how he does."

Well BOOOOOO.....

What's crazy about the above ... DH batting 8th.

If your DH isn't good enough to be hitting 1-5 ... then you need a new DH.

Same could be said about a 1B that generally bats 7-9.
Ahem.
