What presumably is the start of the post-Willie Calhoun era starts tonight with a two game set in Philly. The Rangers come in riding a 2 game winning streak, and see Jon Gray return from the IL for tonight's start. Hopefully he can manage to stay off the IL for awhile. Current Rangers ace Martin Perez takes the hill tomorrow. Both games at 5:45 for some reason.

TEX is at 8-14 but with a -6 run differential. There are 6 teams with worse run diffs but better records. Pitching has remained steady recently, and hitting remains an enigma. The Phils have a lineup full of mashers so this will be a test for the pitching. We will not see former Rangers great Kyle Gibson this series.

Yeah for the Yanks but I was refering to Gallo. You think after Texas and NY blunders anyone will take a chance. Maybe so if really cheap but not surprised if it doesn't happen.

i really doubt it. not until Gallo grows up and accepts input from his coaches etc. apparently the Yankees have tried to get him to throttle down and try hitting the ball around the field and he just keeps trying to hit everything to right field right into the shift. hell, opponents are moving everyone to the right with 4 OF'ers, 3 of them situated from dead center to the foul line, and 3 IF'ers from around 2nd to 1st and he just keeps driving the ball into the teeth of the defense when he isn't striking out. 61 PA, 29 SO, .180 BA

Hey now I am pulling for him. He is going to have to shorten his stroke. It could happen but he thinks he is only useful as a HR hitter.

Just my personal opinion here, but I'm not a fan of this seemingly new trend of players needing to have things adjusted for them to allow them to maybe reach their potential ability. Joey Gallo needs the shift banned so he can be a better hitter. Spencer Howard needs a spot in the rotation to be a better pitcher. Willie Calhoun needs to be coached a specific way to be a .300 hitter.

Every other schmuck put in the work and ended up sinking or swimming. Produce or pack your bags. That's the nature of the game.
