Taveras with 3 hits in 4 innings? Boch will never let him go now.
I hope they let him go at least one more inning given how huge of a lead we have. Even if he gives up a few more runs, it would be worth keeping the bullpen as fresh as possible for tomorrow.I would think this is his last inning.
Can he pitch? With such a big lead maybe he can get on the mound later in the day to keep from having to use any of the actually good relievers.Taveras with 3 hits in 4 innings? Boch will never let him go now.
He is in one of his good stretches. It may last for 2 or 3 more weeks, and then he will come tumbling down again.Taveras with 3 hits in 4 innings? Boch will never let him go now.
Hopefully he comes back down before Jung and Langford return so there is no possible justification for not benching him.He is in one of his good stretches. It may last for 2 or 3 more weeks, and then he will come tumbling down again.
Best I can guess is maybe load management given his injury history? I don't know. Why is Seager getting so much time off?
Yeah, I don't want that perfect storm to take place where Smith is in a little slump, Leody is hot, and Jung is ready to come back.Hopefully he comes back down before Jung and Langford return so there is no possible justification for not benching him.
With the score being what it is, and he's only thrown 83 pitches, I'm betting he's going to get an opportunity to go 5 for sure.I would think this is his last inning.
Hopefully Smith gets judged by his total body of work this year. He's been absolutely on fire.Yeah, I don't want that perfect storm to take place where Smith is in a little slump, Leody is hot, and Jung is ready to come back.
He's forced Bochy's hand. One of the differences fir Josh Smith this year has been evident lately. I believe he recently went 3 games where he only had one hit total in those games. In the past, that would have gotten him benched. He never was allowed to keep playing and work his way out of slumps. This year is different, in that respect, to this point.
Well, there's also the fact his average has dropped about 100 points in the last month or so, and he's made several miscues at short too. And he's known to being tough on himself, so maybe they're giving him some 'space' especially under this type of game conditions..............But it's just my guess and nothing else.Best I can guess is maybe load management given his injury history? I don't know.
Yeah, he really turned it around. And it could not have come at a better time given the injuries to the rotation.Well, I will take back what I said about Urena. He has definitely redeemed himself. I was wrong.
