No More "Bullpen Failure"

Hernandez should be DFA'd after this game. He is terribad.Kelly or Hoopii-Tuionetoa could replace Hernandez at some point soon.
Save using pitchers because of losing 2 starters is the only reason I can think of. We have a DH coming up.But I don't know why you leave a guy out there who is all over the place, and most of those places are balls! And not only balls; but balls they won't swing at.
Seriously how much longer do we have to deal with Yerry. I feel for the kid but he just does not have it. Hopefully by mid June we have the rotation in order with Bradford and Eovaldi back and then the bullpen falls into place with either Heaney or Urena. And Yerry
YepWinn is coming in. I want to see him throw strikes.
Not exactly what I had in mind, Cole.Winn is coming in. I want to see him throw strikes.
Well he wasn't very sharp but he got the job done. Not exactly what I had in mind, Cole.
A lot closer than it should have been. Hernandez and Rodriquez let them get back into the game.Odd game but still a win
The thinking is that with such a huge lead you can afford to let your scrub pitchers finish out the game and save your actual good relievers for next time. What Oakland did - to use an NFL analogy - was essentially score a couple of touchdowns in the last five minutes of the game while down 35. It makes it look closer, but it really doesn't make a difference.A lot closer than it should have been. Hernandez and Rodriquez let them get back into the game.
If you have a big lead, your pitchers that come should throw strikes and not walk 8 batters. The thinking is that with such a huge lead you can afford to let your scrub pitchers finish out the game and save your actual good relievers for next time. Should, yes. But they are bad players, hence the reason they are only being used in mop up duty.If you have a big lead, your pitchers that come should throw strikes and not walk 8 batters.
I think Smith will be subbing in for Jung and Seager some. They can DH for 1/2 days offThose are definitely fair points - his last injury and the fact that he is a fantastic defensive player. Just thinking, Smith has also been really good defensively and the fact that Jung just seems to get dinged up in general it makes sense to maybe limit his time in the field as obviously you can't afford to not have his bat in the lineup. I think back to last year him injuring his hand in the field.
I was at that Baltimore game
I think he came back a better player though and I think he will still get betterOne of the differences for Josh Smith this year has been evident lately. I believe he recently went 3 games where he only had one hit total in those games. In the past, that would have gotten him benched. He never was allowed to keep playing and work his way out of slumps. This year is different, in that respect, to this point.
