He’s a wild card right now.Maybe I am being too pessimistic, but I am no longer counting on Scherzer to be of any significant help to our rotation this year.
PerfectIf we have to make it to September with a rotation of Eovaldi, Bradford, Gray, Lorenzen, and either Dunning or Heaney, I will be happy with that. Maybe we will be surprised with Mahle as well.
Then we can have deGrom ramp up and get stronger in September for the postseason.
At this time, long man out of the pen sounds more reasonable.Maybe I am being too pessimistic, but I am no longer counting on Scherzer to be of any significant help to our rotation this year.
Only thing with that his last injury was swinging the bat. But I see what you are saying. Can bring him along slow. But he's a top caliber defensive player as well. And Josh Smith continues to rake. At this rate it might be best to let Jung DH when he comes back and save the wear on his body given his injury history.
The offense showed up.I guess technically it will be a BP game without Robertson or Yates pitching in it. Offense needs to show up.
Those are definitely fair points - his last injury and the fact that he is a fantastic defensive player. Just thinking, Smith has also been really good defensively and the fact that Jung just seems to get dinged up in general it makes sense to maybe limit his time in the field as obviously you can't afford to not have his bat in the lineup. I think back to last year him injuring his hand in the field.Only thing with that his last injury was swinging the bat. But I see what you are saying. Can bring him along slow. But he's a top caliber defensive player as well.
Great balls of fire!Mercy!
