The new CBA incentivizes putting great prospects on the roster from Opening Day. If a player is voted Rookie of the Year or MVP the 5eam gets an extra draft pick after the first round. I really don't like the baseball media having that much control..

Just wait until the writers start voting on ROY due to the player's or the team's perceived politics or social views. Not only will cities be kept from hosting an All Star Game and certain players kept out of the HOF, but certain owners/teams will also be kept from getting extra draft picks.

The writers have absolutely no control or influence whatsoever on where the MLB All Star Game ends up.

Yes, that was because of the final year of old Yankee stadium.

As far as I can tell, there isn't any reason to think the Rangers aren't in the running for the 2025 game.

the Dodgers have a run differential of +264 and a .700 winning percentage. I have to think that coming up short of a WS title would be seen as a failure to their FO.

they mentioned this on the broadcast yesterday. the Rangers focus on Garcia this year was how he performed in the second half. he's answered that question.

I've often wondered what is more stressful for fans... supporting a team trying to get into the postseason, or supporting a team that's far and away the best team in baseball and seeing them not take it all.
