In 1974 he won the MVP while playing for us at the age of 23. That was a very special year for Rangers fans. We had 4 award winners that year on the team after losing 100 games the first two years of our existence. After the 1976 season we traded Burroughs to Atlanta for 5 spares.

One of the guys we got for him, Roger Moret, became infamous for going into a catatonic trance in the dressing room before a game. I believe he was supposedly holding a shower shoe at the time. I remember being at that game with my transistor radio and heard about it on the pregame show. Being a Rangers fans has all too often been interesting for the wrong reasons.
