The Royals have a better record than the Rangers so this series should be a good test for us. Hopefully, we can win another series.

From Jeff Wilson:

Judging by what was said Thursday, the Rangers don't think this is a serious injury, but the sense is that Eovaldi will go on the IL just to make sure something worse doesn't happen.

His next start is scheduled for Tuesday at Oakland. If the Rangers were to honor the off day Thursday before the series at Colorado, Eovaldi's spot would come up again May 13 to open a three-game home series against the Guardians.

By the time the rotation would cycle through a third time May 19, Eovaldi could be ready to go.

The Rangers can survive two missed starts with a combination of prospects Owen White and Jack Leiter. Both could pitch at Oakland Coliseum, with White getting the Tuesday start and Leiter working Wednesday in the doubleheader. The Thursday off day would allow Leiter time to get ready for the May 13 start on four days' rest.

With minor-league starters pitching only once a week, though, maybe White gets the May 13 start because he would be closer to a normal schedule.

Don't like the chances betting on White.

what you said could be the route the Rangers chose but if they start Heaney on the 6th in Oakland and then bring up Leiter for the second game in Oakland and then follow him with Lorenzen and Dunning on the 2 games of the doubleheader. would seem harsh but they could send Leiter down right after his start on the 7th, bring up an extra reliever plus another to cover the Doubleheader (allowed 27th roster spot).

day off on the 9th

Gray, Heaney & Lorenzen start the 3 games in Colorado (10th, 11th & 12th)

Max Scherzer added to the active roster and starts on the 13th against Cleveland with Dunning and Gray on the 14th and 15th

day off on the 16th

Our low expectations for what Owen White might give us in a start are natural. We might want to brace for a disappointing start from Leiter as well. He could very well leave after 3 innings having given up 4 or 5 runs. The Eovaldi injury has left us very vulnerable.

Meanwhile, the starting pitching prospect we jetisoned just before the season began, Zak Kent, is doing great in AAA so far, albeit in a relief role.

No Jonah tonight and Suday's game is a day game after a night game, so he won't play then either. That's way too much Knizner.
