Well he draws a lot more walks than Hamilton does his on base percentage is 100 points higher than his average

Just saying Stanton is no slam dunk.

Jake peavy rumors

The Red Sox, Cardinals, Dodgers, Braves, and Orioles each have a scout in attendance, tweets ESPN's Jayson Stark, while the Reds and Rangers have two apiece. Keep in mind that their presence does not necessarily imply trade interest in Peavy.

Cuban RHP prospect Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez (from a National League scout): “Very athletic pitcher who possesses six pitches. Fastball can run up to 96-97 mph but sits mainly 94-95. Also has a good curve, real good cutter, slider, change, and forkball. Solid makeup, very good kid and comes from a great family. Has stamina for 50-60 pitches now, but could slot in as a no. 2-3 starter in the big leagues by late August with some seasoning.”

I would go for stanton and be willing to get rid of everyone except perez brinson and gallo. Hell, that gonzalez guy we drafted has to hold SOME value right? And his ceiling isnt even that high. He could be involved. Profar, Gonzalez, Font, Gentry, and Mazara.

^I'm ok with giving up Gallo for Stanton.

Proven power hitter vs. Low A Power hitter that may fizzle in the higher levels.
Yes please.

Trout & Goldschmidt or maybe Joe Maddon? This is the kind of team he would like to work with.

HaHa, just figured if things don't change from the last month that's what it would it take. Typing of drinking, so glad I didn't leave early to watch the game, I'd be hammered right now.

I'd love to hear what JD has dangled for Stanton. I think it would take Profar, Perez and Odor+. I think that would work out well for both teams. Profar isn't an OF, neither is Kinsler. With Sardinas still in the system, the Rangers have MI covered for the next decade. Stanton would be the perfect add for Texas

Would rather dangle Sardinas than Odor

From what I've seen Stanton looks a lot like Hamilton. Generational talent, but more interested in swinging the bat than having a good at bat, even if he never sees a strike. Not to mention he seems to be made of glass.

think it comes from not having anything around him offensively. he comes to the plate thinking he has to hit a 5-run homer every at-bat. I think that would change with a batting order that includes Kinsler, Beltre & AJ
