What do you think Grimm's upside was?

I would like to know that as well. I actually liked Tepesch better than Grimm. He could at least make it thru the lineups twice and pitched a good game against Wainright and the Cards. Grimm was getting worse and worse.

It sucks that the NL west is such a shitty division. Colorado 4 games under .500 and they're only 4 games back... like wtf is that.

at least the dodgers appear to be running away with it as good as they've been playing recently. I'm telling you, the rockies have to be strongly considering selling right now. They really need pitching, and we got great prospects to do it. All I'm saying is, JD has to be at least calling about Cargo. Thats 5 seasons with a monster. He's your new 3 hole. Not only that, but hes quick, explosive, and a great defender. Imagine an outfield with Leonys in center, Cargo in left, and whoever else we want to sign this offseason in right? Or if we're talking this season, nelly in right. That's insane. He makes our entire lineup better.

Kinsler
Leonys
Cargo
Beltre
Nelly
AJ
Manny
Mitch
EA

Cruz and Cargo are pretty replacable though. Just depends what you're more confortable with.
Now I know that had to open some eyes

You realize Cargo might have more value than any other outfielder in the league? What are you willing to give up? he is signed thru 2018 I believe? The Rockies don't have to do anything with him at the moment unless blown away. It wouldn't just take some prospects to get that done, and you would be competing with just about every team in the league. I don't see how that could get done this season

Tepesch's fastball has some good movement. Grimm's is straight as an arrow, and if he's not hitting his spots he gets crushed. Grimm has also had too many mental midget moments for my liking.

They wouldn't take that deal. They would have to get more of a proven prospect or Major league ready SP than that. And to other teams Profar's value is at SS, they have Tulo, which is signed thru 2020. You're talking about one of the best all around players in the game signed to a team friendly contract for the next 5 years, it's going to take a lot as of today. Maybe you can try again in 3 years.

Wow, if we end up giving up Ramirez as the player to be named... we got hosed. Still the big league club got better, but if they can't resign him, we gave up a ton of future pitching for him.

Reading that a source said the Cubs got some good prospects but no slam dunk like Profar. That is very true.

not really anyone fantastic on the market this year (unless COL starts losing quick). Guess some of us will have to accept that. I have full faith that JD is gonna get what's best at the time for us. But for some reason I honestly don't feel like that's gonna be enough. I'm just being a realist here
