I'm hesitant giving up the farm on a pretty good hitter that plays for the Rockies. Kind of like giving up the farm for a fabulous pitcher that play in a pitchers park half the time.

You talking about cargo or cuddyer?

Grienke has better stuff than Garza and any ML scout will tell you that. Plus Garza's numbers in Arlington are terrible. Straight up, there's not a single GM in baseball that takes Garza over Grienke all things considered.

I want edge and after having Hamilton, I do not trust what may go through that monkey brain of Greinke's.

I'll admit that Greinke probably has better stuff, I never said he was worse, but saying Garza is completely inferior is a bit of a stretch.

Getting anyone from Colorado would be tough because no one wants to win that division.

They're in the hunt, no way
unfortunately

If they skid 4-5 games they might, but as of now I agree. Probably means your best options are rios, Byrd, and Soriano. Of the three I'd prefer rios I think but I'd have to check the numbers again to be sure.

That is one of the things I like about Garza. He has this tough attitude about him.

Lol at you calling Greinke dumb. He had mental problems sure, but his teammates on TWO different teams he's been on have went public and said he is the smartest teammate they've ever had.

But Greinke is without a doubt a better pitcher than Garza, however I strongly feel like they think they can resign Garza moreso than they did Greinke. Even though they were really close to getting greinke, i dont think they realized that at the time. Game 7 of the world series, and I have to choose between Garza and Greinke, I'm going Greinke, and I wouldnt even hesitate.

I would take Rios in a heartbeat. I always loved Byrd because he played hard but I still would want Rios.

BTW, it sorta baffles me that the angels werent really pushing to get garza. I know they are depleted, but damn their pitching is disgraceful. Why would they not push for him? Their front office is absolutely idiotic. They'll probably get an outfielder or a first basemen at the deadline.

Agree with this. I hope you guys dont think Im trying to say Garza is really not on Greinke's level at all. I'm just saying scouts, stats, and just watching them a few games each would show you he is a better pitcher. But I am very happy about getting garza no doubt.

Greinke got his money and also got a one sided contract where he can opt out somewhere in the middle. I bet that was one of the things that made Texas not go all out for him and he used Texas and the Angels leverage because he knew the Dodgers would pay whatever they needed to land him.

Apparently Chicago has been quite uninspired by the offers they've gotten for rios.

Because they're ten games out.

They're hoping someone will bite. I hope it's not Texas. I like Rios in general but you can add offensive guys that are not big names but still change a make up of an offense by plate approach, walks, timely hits etc. And coming from a bad team to a contender will energize any player.
